6. Late Ordovician-Early Silurian facies development and stratigraphy of Jämtland, central Sweden
Sammanfattning : This thesis is based on studies of Lower Palaeozoic sedimentary successions within the central Scandinavian Caledonides. These deposits have been transported by considerable nappe displacement (several kilometres), and are today relatively isolated from the nearest coeval outcrops (Dalarna 250 km, Oslo Region 350 km). 7. Silurian Carbonate Platforms of Gotland, Sweden - Archives of Local, Regional and Global Environmental Changes
Sammanfattning : This thesis treats the Silurian carbonate platforms of Gotland, Sweden, which formed close to the equator within the East Baltic Basin. Three different time intervals, all involving changes in facies composition and structure of the platforms, have been studied; Late Homerian, latest Homerian ? earliest Gorstian, and late Ludfordian, respectively. 8. Neogene lacustrine deposits in the inland basins of northern Greece : stratigraphy, paleoenvironment, paleomagnetism and industrial usefulness
Sammanfattning : Intensive tectonism in Neogene time created basins and mountain ranges in northern Greece with considerable topographic contrasts. The basins were successively filled with sediments up to a level of about +750 m. LÄS MER
9. Volcanic stratigraphy, chemical stratigraphy, and hydrothermal alteration of the Petiknäs South Volcanic-hosted massive sulfide deposit, Sweden
Sammanfattning : The main exploration methods which have been used in the Skellefte district are prospecting for ore boulders in young glacial deposits and electrical geophysical methods. The discovery of new ores which likely are located at deep levels (>200 m), requires improved exploration methods, which in turn require a better understanding of the geology and alteration patterns of the known VMS deposits. 10. Geological development of the East African coastal basin of Tanzania
Sammanfattning : The East African coastal basin of Tanzania, which is characterised by an extensional tectonic style, is located along the passive continental margin of the western Indian Ocean. The present study is concerned with the Mafia Island and the Mafia Channel which together form a subbasin within the north-south elongated coastal sedimentary basin of Tanzania. LÄS MER
