  1. 1. Reverse genetic studies of Enterovirus replication

    Författare :Anna Sävneby; A. Michael Lindberg; Björn Andersson; Peter Gierow; Jonas Waldenström; Martin Ryan; Linnéuniversitetet; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Enterovirus; picornavirus; coxsackievirus; echovirus; rhinovirus; reverse genetics; replication; translation; transfection; cassette vector.; Virology; Virologi;

    Sammanfattning : Enteroviruses belong to the Picornaviridae family and are small icosahedral viruses with RNA genomes of positive polarity, containing a single open reading frame. They mostly cause mild or asymptomatic infections, but also a wide array of diseases including: poliomyelitis, encephalitis, gastroenteritis, aseptic meningitis, myocarditis, hand-foot-and-mouth disease, hepatitis and respiratory diseases, ranging from severe infections to the common cold. 2. 2. Studies on rotavirus replication

    Författare :Alexis Fuentes; Uppsala universitet; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Biochemistry; Biokemi; Biochemistry; Biokemi; molekylärbiologi; Molecular Biology;

    Sammanfattning : Rotavirus is the leading cause of dehydrating diarrhea in infants and young children globally. In cells infected with rotavirus SA11 the synthesis of viral RNA and protein predominated already after a few hours. Cellular RNA remained intact, but viral mRNA was preferentially utilised for protein synthesis. LÄS MER

  3. 3. Real-time PCR studies of genotypes, mutations and replication of hepatitis B virus

    Författare :Sebastian Malmström; Göteborgs universitet; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; hepatitis B virus; real-time PCR; lamivudine resistance; genotypes; replication;

    Sammanfattning : Infection with hepatitis B virus (HBV) is an important cause of liver disease and affects 350 million people worldwide, causing 600,000 deaths/year. Treatment includes interferon and nucleoside analogues (NAs) such as lamivudine, entecavir, and tenofovir. LÄS MER

  4. 4. Optimistic Replication with Forward Conflict Resolution in Distributed Real-Time Databases

    Författare :Sanny Syberfeldt; Sten Andler; Jörgen Hansson; Sang H. Son; Alejandro Buchmann; Linköpings universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Distributed Systems; Real-Time Systems; Databases; Replication; Optimistic Protocol; Conflict Resolution; Computer science; Datalogi; Teknik;

    Sammanfattning : In this thesis a replication protocol - PRiDe - is presented, which supports optimistic replication in distributed real-time databases with deterministic detection and forward resolution of transaction conflicts. The protocol is designed to emphasize node autonomy, allowing individual applications to proceed without being affected by distributed operation. LÄS MER

  5. 5. Molecular characterization of the Tick-borne encephalitis virus : Environments and replication

    Författare :Wessam Melik; Magnus Johansson; Sonja Best; Stockholms universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Tick-borne encephalitis virus; molekylärgenetik; Molecular Genetics;

    Sammanfattning : The flavivirus genus is of major concern for world morbidity and mortality and includes viruses causing both encephalitic as well as hemorrhagic diseases. The incidence of Tick-borne encephalitis is increasing in many European countries and several reports have emphasized the expansion of the main vector, Ixodes ricinus. LÄS MER
