21. Synthesis and characterization of Mo- and W-based atomic laminates
Sammanfattning : Mn+1AXn (MAX) phases are inherently nanolaminated compounds based on transition metals (M), A group elements (A), and carbon or/and nitrogen (X), which exhibit a unique combination of ceramic and metallic properties. My thesis work has focused on exploring novel MAX phase chemistries, including elemental combinations beyond those traditionally used for MAX phases, and their graphene-analogous 2D counterpart, MXenes. 22. Processability of Laser Powder Bed Fusion of Alloy 247LC-Influence of process parameters on microstructure and defects
Sammanfattning : This thesis is about laser powder bed fusion (L-PBF) of the nickel-basedsuperalloy Alloy 247LC. Alloy 247LC is mainly used in gas turbine blades and processing the blades with L-PBF may confer performance advantage over the blades manufactured with conventional methods. LÄS MER
23. Laser-based powder bed fusion of stainless steels
Sammanfattning : The aim of the present work has been to widen the knowledge of how variations within powder manufacturing affect laser-based powder bed fusion processing, and how this processing affects the microstructure and strength of stainless steels. The approach was to keep the processing parameters fixed while the powder feedstock was varied. LÄS MER
24. CVD on Iron Powder - Using Fluidising Bed Techniques
Sammanfattning : Today's electrical energy conversion devices, such as motors, transformers, inductors and generators, are based on laminated magnetic cores for reduction of eddy current losses, imposing a two-dimensional magnetic flux distribution. Using a three-dimensional magnetic flux distribution while maintaining low magnetic losses requires new approaches to magnetic core materials. LÄS MER
25. Porous Sorbents for Environmental Applications and Selective Laser Sintering 3D Printing of Dosage Forms
Sammanfattning : The rising levels of greenhouse gas emissions from vehicular and industrial pollution constitute a serious concern not only for the environment but for our entire society. Traditional gas capture and separation techniques, such as amine scrubbing for CO2 gas separation, have been commonly used at a commercial scale, however issues relating to high costs and high energy requirements for sorbent regeneration have limited the efficiency of many of these techniques.
