1. Additive Manufacturing of Ni-Fe Superalloys : Exploring the Alloying Envelope and the Impact of Process on Mechanical Properties
Sammanfattning : Additive manufacturing of metals has received a lot of attention in the last decade as this family of manufacturing processes allows the manufacturing of complicated geometries which would be difficult to produce using conventional manufacturing techniques. Additive manufacturing of the Ni-Fe based superalloys 625 and 718 using the Powder Bed Fusion – Laser Beam (PBF-LB) process is facilitated by the fact that these alloys were developed as weldable alternatives to other high-strength, high-temperature Ni-based superalloys. 2. Laser-based powder bed fusion of stainless steels
Sammanfattning : The aim of the present work has been to widen the knowledge of how variations within powder manufacturing affect laser-based powder bed fusion processing, and how this processing affects the microstructure and strength of stainless steels. The approach was to keep the processing parameters fixed while the powder feedstock was varied. LÄS MER
3. Investigating the effect of extending powder particle size distribution of Ti-6Al-4V produced by powder bed fusion laser beam process : Influence of process parameters on material integrity
Sammanfattning : This thesis focuses on the topic of PBF-LB applied to titanium alloys. Of allalloys, an α + β is chosen, named Ti-6Al-4V. The selection of this particular alloy is driven by its current widespread use in many industrial applications where high strength coupled with low density are both desirable properties. LÄS MER
4. Laser powder bed fusion processing and heat treatment of Ni-base superalloys: microstructure and properties
Sammanfattning : Nickel-base superalloys are indispensable materials for the energy and aerospace industries. The additive manufacturing (AM) of these materials by powder bed fusion – laser beam (PBF-LB) presents a valuable opportunity to improve component performance and ease manufacturing and supply chain complexity in these industries. 5. Development of high performance aluminium alloys tailored for powder bed fusion-laser beam
Sammanfattning : The powder bed fusion-laser beam (PBF-LB) process has lately been regarded as a top choice for creating complicated structures which are not possible via conventional manufacturing. Nevertheless, the pace of alloys for PBF-LB has been slower. LÄS MER
