16. Polymer-Mediated Interactions and Phase Behaviour of Polymer-Particle Dispersions
Sammanfattning : Interactions between colloidal particles can be modelled by particles grafted with polymers. In this work, structural and physical properties of colloids are investigated under variation of parameters such as pH, ionic strength, and temperature, where aggregation and cluster formation can be monitored in aqueous solution. 17. Neutron Scattering Experiments and Computer Simulation Studies of a Polymer Electrolyte
Sammanfattning : Polymer electrolytes are regarded as key components in promising new types of batteries for portable electronic devices and electric cars. Batteries for such applications require polymer electrolytes with improved properties, e.g. a higher ionic conductivity. LÄS MER
18. Visualising Functional Nanostructures of Organic Semiconductors using Electron Microscopy
Sammanfattning : Organic semiconducting materials have enabled the solution-processable fabrication of light-weight and flexible electronic devices. In particular, doping using molecular dopants has enabled the fabrication of high-performance organic electronics. LÄS MER
19. Mechanical and swelling properties of hydrogels
Sammanfattning : Hydrogels have been used as one of the novel soft materials in many biomedical applications such as drug delivery and tissue engineering for recent decades. In the main part of this work, bi-functional poly(ethylene glycol) (PEG) precursors with either thiols (PEG-SH) or allyls (PEG-Al) , covering molecular weights from 3 kDa to 8 kDa were synthesized and thoroughly characterized by 1H NMR, 13C NMR, FT-Raman and MALDI-TOF techniques. 20. Exploring different thermoplastics from lignocellulosic building blocks and monomers
Sammanfattning : The need to replace conventional fossil-based plastics is becoming more imperative. As climate change is more visibly affecting our society, employing non-sustainable resources to produce plastics is aggravating the problem. LÄS MER
