6. A phylogenetic analysis of rasborin fishes (Teleostei, Cyprinidae)
Sammanfattning : The Danioninae (sensu lato) were until recently considered to be a paraphyletic group, comprising about 200 species and distributed over Africa and southern and eastern Asia. There was no morphological diagnosis for the Danioninae, and also the composition of the subfamily, and the interrelationships of included genera have been contentious. LÄS MER
7. Evolution of the G protein-coupled receptor signaling system : Genomic and phylogenetic analyses
Sammanfattning : Signal transduction pathways mediated by G protein-coupled receptors (GPCRs) and their intracellular coupling partners, the heterotrimeric G proteins, are crucial for several physiological functions in eukaryotes, including humans. This thesis describes a broad genomic survey and extensive comparative phylogenetic analysis of GPCR and G protein families from a wide selection of eukaryotes. LÄS MER
8. Phylogenetic relationships and species richness of coprophilous ascomycetes
Sammanfattning : Coprophilous ascomycetes are a diverse group of saprobes, of which many belong to three families, Delitschiaceae, Phaeotrichaceae and Sporormiaceae, within the large order Pleosporales. The natural relationships and circumscription of these families are unclear, especially within the family Sporormiaceae, where the generic delimitation have been questioned. LÄS MER
9. Biological and Molecular Characteristics of Microorganism-Stimulated Defence Response in Lycopersicon esculentum –L
Sammanfattning : Microorganisms, including two fungi, Phytophthora cryptogea and Fusarium oxysporum strain Fo-(IMI 386351), and one bacterium, Pesudomonas sp. strain MF30, were tested for their abilities to stimulate plant defence responses in tomato (Lycopersicon esculentum –L.) and to serve as effective biocontrol agents (Bs). 10. Phylogenomic Analysis of Vertebrate Evolution
Sammanfattning : The field of phylogenomics has emerged during the last five years, as the number of fully or partially sequenced genomes has increased rapidly. Using whole genomes for phylogenetic studies greatly increases the accuracy of the trees determined, and can potentially resolve phylogenetic questions that could not be resolved bu studies using only a few gene sequences.
