  1. 11. Molecules and Dust around AGB stars : Mass-loss rates and molecular abundances

    Författare :Sofia Ramstedt; Hans Olofsson; Fredrik Schöier; José Cernicharo; Stockholms universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; AGB stars; mass-loss; circumstellar abundances; Formation and development of stars; Stjärnors bildning och utveckling; Astronomy; astronomi;

    Sammanfattning : All stars with a stellar mass of about 0.8–8 MSun will end their lives as asymptotic giant branch (AGB) stars. Through their extensive mass loss the AGB stars constitutes an important source of nuclear processed material. LÄS MER

  2. 12. Flux emergence: flares and coronal mass ejections driven by dynamo action underneath the solar surface

    Författare :Jörn Warnecke; Axel Brandenburg; Dikpati Mausumi; Stockholms universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Astronomy; astronomi; teoretisk astrofysik; Theoretical Astrophysics; Space and Plasma Physics; rymd- och plasmafysik;

    Sammanfattning : Helically shaped magnetic field structuresknown as coronal mass ejections (CMEs) are closely related to so-called eruptive flares. On the one hand, these events are broadly believed to be due tothe buoyant rise of magnetic flux tubes from the bottom of the convection zone to the photosphere where they form structures such as sunspots. 3. 13. Investigating magnetic fields in the solar chromosphere

    Författare :Alexander Pietrow; Dan Kiselman; Jaime de la Cruz Rodr´ıguez; Oleg Kochukhov; Stockholms universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Sun; chromosphere; plage; Astronomy; astronomi;

    Sammanfattning : Solar plage has been the topic of many studies since its initial description in the mid 19th century, but as of yet it has not been understood to the point where we can reproduce all aspects of these active regions in quasi-realistic numerical models. To a large extent, this is caused by an incomplete understanding of the magnetic structure that drives the activity in these areas. LÄS MER
