21. Multi-Dimensional Quantitative Laser-based Diagnostics - Development and Practial Applications
Sammanfattning : Laser based optical diagnostic methods are routinely used in combustion research. Many of the more common approaches are based on illuminating a cross-section of the sample with a thin laser sheet. For example, by targeting an electronic transition in a molecule, its concentration within the plane illuminated by the laser sheet can be deduced. LÄS MER
22. Lean contracting : relational contracting influenced by lean thinking
Sammanfattning : The construction sector represents a most vital proportion of Swedish society through its main task of meeting the demands regarding buildings and infrastructure needed, among other things, for living, work, leisure time, education and communication. That this is executed in an effective manner is an important issue for a sustainable development of society. LÄS MER
23. Resistant pneumococci and use of antibiotics
Sammanfattning : Pneumococcal resistance to antibiotics has become a worldwide problem. The rapid increase in frequency seems to be caused by intercontinental spread of a few resistant clones. Resistance to antibiotics in pneumococci has reduced the therapeutic arsenal for common respiratory tract infections as well as for invasive infections. LÄS MER
24. Towards Quantitative Diagnostics using Short-Pulse Laser Techniques
Sammanfattning : Laser based diagnostic tools have had an exploding impact on fundamental as well as applied research in a number of disciplines, such as biomedicine, physical chemistry etc over the last decades. Whereas fundamental research often investigate phenomena in extreme conditions, applied research aims at performing in-situ measurements, in order to understand the many aspects and entangled phenomena that affects the research of interest. 25. Biofiltration technologies for stormwater quality treatment
Sammanfattning : Due to high runoff volumes and peak flows, and significant contamination with (inter alia) sediment, metals, nutrients, polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons and salt, urban stormwater is a major cause of degradation of urban water ways. Since current urban drainage systems, which heavily rely on piped sewer networks, may not be sustainable, attempts are being made to develop and refine sustainable urban drainage solutions, notably in Water Sensitive Urban Design (WSUD) and Low Impact Development (LID) concepts.
