  1. 6. Natural corrosion in reinforced concrete structures

    Författare :Samanta Robuschi; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Natural corrosion; pitting corrosion; reinforced concrete structures; chloride-induced corrosion.; neutron imaging; anchorage; plain bars; X-rays CT;

    Sammanfattning : Among the threats to the durability of concrete structures, corrosion of the reinforcement bars is undoubtedly the most common one. Corrosion damages impair safety and durability of infrastructure, and assessment of the safety is challenging due to the complex nature of the corrosion process. LÄS MER

  2. 7. Processing–Structure–Properties Relationship in Metal Additive Manufacturing

    Författare :Victor Pacheco; Martin Sahlberg; Ulf Jansson; Premysl Beran; Joe Kelleher; Uppsala universitet; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; additive manufacturing; selective laser melting; preferential orientation; neutron imaging; metallic glasses;

    Sammanfattning : The last three decades have seen the transition of additive manufacturing, from applications exclusively in rapid-prototyping to an emerging production method in the manufacturing industry that is rapidly gaining more relevance. Within additive manufacturing methods, selective laser melting (SLM) is one of the most widely used and mature technologies and is the focus of this thesis. 3. 8. Mixed Beam Dosimetry - From Reactor Core to BNCT Patient

    Författare :Per Munck af Rosenschöld; Lund Medicinsk strålningsfysik; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; BNCT; dosimetry; radiotherapy; mixed beam; quality assurance; in vivo dosimetry; Monte Carlo; ionization chamber; foil activation; MCNP; beam quality correction factor; photon transmission.; Nukleärmedicin; radiobiology; Nuclear medicine; radiobiologi; Radiofarmaceutisk teknik; Radiopharmaceutical technology;

    Sammanfattning : Accurate radiation dosimetry is of paramount importance in order to ensure safe delivery of radiotherapy, and for the possibility of meaningful evaluation of clinical trials, as the radiation absorbed dose is correlated to tissue response. The aim of the studies described in this thesis was to investigate and devise novel approaches to mixed beam dosimetry in boron neutron capture therapy (BNCT). LÄS MER

  4. 9. The microdosimetric variance-covariance method used for beam quality characterization in radiation protection and radiation therapy

    Författare :Jan Erik Lillhök; Lennart Lindborg; Bernd Grosswendt; Stockholms universitet; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; ionizing radiation; radiation quality; radiation protection; radiation therapy; microdosimetry; nanodosimetry; variance-covariance method; Radiological physics; Radiofysik; medicinsk strålningsfysik; Medical Radiation Physics;

    Sammanfattning : Radiation quality is described by the RBE (relative biological effectiveness) that varies with the ionizing ability of the radiation. Microdosimetric quantities describe distributions of energy imparted to small volumes and can be related to RBE. LÄS MER

  5. 10. Studies of Nuclear Fuel by Means of Nuclear Spectroscopic Methods

    Författare :Peter Jansson; Roland Carchon; Uppsala universitet; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Radiation sciences; irradiated nuclear fuel; nuclear spectroscopy; tomography; safeguard; Strålningsvetenskap; Radiation biology; Strålningsbiologi; Kärnfysik; Nuclear Physics;

    Sammanfattning : The increasing demand for characterization of nuclear fuel, both from an operator and authority point of view, motivates the development of new experimental and, preferable, non-destructive methods. In this thesis, some methods based on nuclear spectroscopic techniques are presented. LÄS MER
