21. Sensitivity-Enhanced Raman Spectroscopy and High-Speed Fluorescence for In Situ Gas-Phase Diagnostics
Sammanfattning : In this work, combustion and thermal decomposition processes were studied employing laser-based diagnostic techniques, and the techniques were improved and demonstrated to achieve enhanced detection sensitivity. Raman spectroscopy was employed to study flames under elevated and atmospheric pressures with various fuels, such as methane, hydrogen-enriched methane, DME, ethylene, and ammonia. LÄS MER
22. Organohalogen environmental pollutants in Baltic fish : chemical characterization and toxicological evaluation with a focus on bone disturbances
Sammanfattning : The present study was initiated due to concern about toxicological consequences associated with the exposure to persistent organic pollutants (POPs) via the consumption of Baltic fish. In Sweden, fish from the Baltic Sea is a major dietary source of POPs but also an important source of essential nutrients. LÄS MER
23. Integrated Optical Solutions for Ubiquitous Sensing
Sammanfattning : Ubiquitous chemical sensing aims at exploiting consumer electronic devices as temporary chemical sensing platforms. These devices are a highly disseminated infrastructure, not presently being exploited for chemical sensing purposes. LÄS MER
24. Characterization of Biomolecular Interactions Using a Multivariate Approach
Sammanfattning : This thesis presents a novel bioinformatic methodology denoted the bio-chemometric approach. The methodology is designed for generation of detailed descriptions and predictions of biomolecular interactions. It is based on multivariate analysis of the sensitivity of a biomolecular interaction to multiple minor changes in the experimental conditions. LÄS MER
25. Characterizing phenotypes of Mycobacterium tuberculosis and exploring anti-mycobacterial compounds through high content screening
Sammanfattning : Tuberculosis (TB), an airborne disease and one of the top 10 causes of death globally, is caused by Mycobacterium tuberculosis (Mtb). Current standard therapy for TB treatment includes multiple drugs for a period of at least 6 months. LÄS MER
