  1. 1. Electric vehicles in action

    Författare :Martina Wikström; Per Alvfors; Lisa Hansson; Gil Tal; KTH; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; electric vehicles; interdisciplinary approach; public fleets; public transport;

    Sammanfattning : This thesis analyses the political and practical conditions for introducing electric vehicles in Swedish public authorites and discusses the potential for using electric vehicles in public transport and public fleets. The work has been carried out using an interdisciplinary research approach. LÄS MER

  2. 2. Sustainable Personal Road Transport : The Role of Electric Vehicles

    Författare :Sven Borén; Göran Broman; Henrik Ny; Louise Trygg; Jamil Khan; Blekinge Tekniska Högskola; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Strategic Sustainable Development; Transport Planning; Electric Vehicles; Testing; LCA;

    Sammanfattning : Electric vehicles can play an important role in a future sustainable road transport system and many Swedish politicians would like to see them implemented faster. This is likely desirable to reach the target of a fossil independent vehicle fleet in Sweden by 2030 and a greenhouse gas neutral Swedish society no later than 2050. LÄS MER

  3. 3. The Four-Quadrant Transducer System : for Hybrid Electric Vehicles

    Författare :Erik Nordlund; Chandur Sadarangani; Hans Kahlen; KTH; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Electrical engineering; Electrical Machines; Hybrid Vehicles; Elektroteknik; Electrical engineering; Elektroteknik;

    Sammanfattning : In this thesis a hybrid electrical powertrain called the Four Quadrant Transducer (4QT) has been evaluated through different driving simulations, which later resulted in the manufacture of a prototype. The simulation of a 12 metric ton distribution truck showed that the 4QT system can reduce the fuel consumption by approximately 30 % during the FTP75 drive cycle. LÄS MER

  4. 4. Diffusion of Battery Electric Vehicles : The Role of Total Cost of Ownership

    Författare :Jens Hagman; Sofia Ritzèn; Johan Jansson; KTH; []
    Nyckelord :Total cost of ownership; electric vehicles; e-taxis; vehicle salespeople; Machine Design; Maskinkonstruktion;

    Sammanfattning : Due to their high efficiency, zero tailpipe emissions and possibilities of using renewable electricity, Battery Electric Vehicles (BEVs) have been proposed as a way to alleviate the negative consequences of transport. However, as with other energy-efficient innovations market uptake or diffusion of BEVs have so far been limited. LÄS MER

  5. 5. Modular Battery Systems for Electric Vehicles based on Multilevel Inverter Topologies - Opportunities and Challenges

    Sammanfattning : Modular battery systems based on multilevel inverter (MLI) topologies can possibly overcome some shortcomings of two-level inverters when used for vehicle propulsion. The results presented in this thesis aim to point out the advantages and disadvantages, as well as the technical challenges, of modular vehicle battery systems based on MLIs in comparison to a conventional, two-level IGBT inverter drivetrain.
