16. Contributions to Parallel Simulation of Equation-Based Models on Graphics Processing Units
Sammanfattning : In this thesis we investigate techniques and methods for parallel simulation of equation-based, object-oriented (EOO) Modelica models on graphics processing units (GPUs). Modelica is being developed through an international effort via the Modelica Association. LÄS MER
17. On steady waves in two-layer fluids and ferrofluids
Sammanfattning : This thesis concerns travelling waves in a two-layer fluid and on a ferrofluid jet. We prove existence of several types of such waves by reformulating the corresponding governing equation as an infinite dimensional dynamical system, where an unbounded spatial coordinate is used as time. 18. Generalized finite element methods for time-dependent multiscale problems
Sammanfattning : In this thesis we develop and analyze generalized finite element methods for time-dependent partial differential equations (PDEs). The focus lies on equa- tions with rapidly varying coefficients, for which the classical finite element method is insufficient, as it requires a mesh fine enough to resolve the data. LÄS MER
19. Multiscale methods for evolution problems
Sammanfattning : In this thesis we develop and analyze generalized finite element methods for time-dependent partial differential equations (PDEs). The focus lies on equations with rapidly varying coefficients, for which the classical finite element method is insufficient, as it requires a mesh fine enough to resolve the data. LÄS MER
20. Ultrasound Contrast Agents Loaded with Magnetic Nanoparticles : Acoustic and Mechanical Characterization
Sammanfattning : The current methodologies in body scanning diagnostic uses different simultaneous imaging modalities like Ultrasound (US), magnetic resonance imaging (MRI), single photon emission tomography (SPECT) and positron emission tomography (PET). The field requires combination of different modalities for effective use in clinical diagnostics. LÄS MER
