26. Two-Level Multi-Objective Genetic Algorithm for Risk-Based Life Cycle Cost Analysis
Sammanfattning : Artificial intelligence (AI) is one of the fields in science and engineering and encompasses a wide variety of subfields, ranging from general areas (learning and perception) to specific topics, such as mathematical theorems. AI and, specifically, multi-objective genetic algorithms (MOGAs) for risk-based life cycle cost (LCC) analysis should be performed to estimate the optimal replacement time of tunnel fan systems, with a view towards reducing the ownership cost and the risk cost and increasing company profitability from an economic point of view. 27. Taking stock of large-scale lithium-ion battery production using life cycle assessment
Sammanfattning : Battery electric vehicles are being increasingly favored as an alternative to internal combustion engine vehicles (ICEVs). This is mainly due to their lower environmental impact when compared to ICEVs over the vehicle’s lifetime. LÄS MER
28. Exploring the Cell Cycle of Archaea
Sammanfattning : Archaea is the third domain of life, discovered only thirty years ago. In a microscope archaea appear indistinguishable from bacteria, but they have been shown to be more closely related to eukaryotes than to bacteria. Especially central information processing is homologous to that of eukaryotes. LÄS MER
29. The green engineer as an enabler of life-cycle management in manufacturing: models and practices
Sammanfattning : The last 20 years corporate environmental management has developed from pollution control and emission prevention, to include a greater responsibility for indirect environmental issues along the whole product life cycle. This thesis aims at providing a better understanding of how such environmental life-cycle management can be applied on manufacturing processes. LÄS MER
30. Exploring climate impacts of timber buildings : The effects from including non-traditional aspects in life cycle impact assessment
Sammanfattning : There is an urgency within the building sector to reduce its greenhouse gas emissions and mitigate climate change. An increased proportion of biobased building materials in construction is a potential measure to reduce these emissions. LÄS MER
