  1. 1. Exploring climate impacts of timber buildings : The effects from including non-traditional aspects in life cycle impact assessment

    Författare :Diego Peñaloza; Magnus Wålinder; Matty Janssen; KTH; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; life cycle assessment LCA ; timber buildings; biobased building materials; low-energy buildings; forest products; climate impact assessment; biogenic emissions; carbon storage; timing of emissions; Industrial Ecology; Industriell ekologi; Byggvetenskap; Civil and Architectural Engineering;

    Sammanfattning : There is an urgency within the building sector to reduce its greenhouse gas emissions and mitigate climate change. An increased proportion of biobased building materials in construction is a potential measure to reduce these emissions. LÄS MER

  2. 2. Pulsating Combustion - Combustion Characteristics and Reduction of Emissions

    Författare :Annika Lindholm; Förbränningsfysik; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Exhaust gas recirculation; NOx; Heat Release; Combustion related radicals; Laser based measurements; Pulsating Combustion; Unsteday Flow; Emissions; Combustion; Energy research; Energiforskning;

    Sammanfattning : In the search for high efficiency combustion systems pulsating combustion has been identified as one of the technologies that potentially can meet the objectives of clean combustion and good fuel economy.Pulsating combustion offers low emissions of pollutants, high heat transfer and efficient combustion. 3. 3. An Investigation of Low Temperature Combustion Using high Levels of EGR

    Författare :Malin Alriksson; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; low soot; low NOx; low temperature combustion; emissions; diesel combustion;

    Sammanfattning : The diesel engine offers good fuel economy and generates low carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions, but it is also a source of undesirably high particulate matter (PM) and nitrogen oxide (NOx) emissions, which are subject to increasingly strict legislative limits because of their adverse effects on the environment and human health. Thus, in recent years, several combustion concepts have been developed to meet future legislation requirements, one of which is Low Temperature Combustion (LTC) using high levels of EGR (Exhaust Gas Recycling). 4. 4. The role of biobased building materials in the climate impacts of construction : Effects of increased use of biobased materials in the Swedish building sector

    Författare :Diego Peñaloza; Magnus Wålinder; Martin Erlandsson; Andreas Falk; Johanna Berlin; Dimitris Athanassiadis; KTH; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; LCA; timber buildings; timber bridges; biobased building materials; dynamic LCA; climate change mitigation; building stock; scenario analysis; biogenic carbon; Byggvetenskap; Civil and Architectural Engineering;

    Sammanfattning : A significant share of the global climate change impacts can be attributed to the construction sector. One mitigation strategy is increasing the use of biobased materials. Life cycle assessment (LCA) has been used to demonstrate the benefits of this, but forest complexities create uncertainty due to omission of key aspects. LÄS MER

  5. 5. Bringing Aviation into the EU Emissions Trading Scheme : Institutional Entrepreneurship at Windows of Opportunity

    Författare :Katarina Buhr; Kerstin Sahlin; Linda Wedlin; Lars Strannegård; Roy Suddaby; Uppsala universitet; []
    Nyckelord :SAMHÄLLSVETENSKAP; SOCIAL SCIENCES; Business studies; Företagsekonomi;

    Sammanfattning : The present decade has experienced a boom in public and private interest in climate change. A frequently exposed industry in this debate has been aviation, not least international air transport, the greenhouse gas emissions of which have long remained unregulated. LÄS MER
