  1. 1. Life-Cycle Costing : Applications and Implementations in Bridge Investment and Management

    Författare :Mohammed Safi; Raid Karoumi; Håkan Sundquist; Jan-Eric Nilsson; KTH; []
    Nyckelord :ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; Bridge; Cost; Life Cycle Cost Analysis; Procurement; Investment; Management;

    Sammanfattning : A well-maintained bridge infrastructure is a fundamental necessity for a modern society that provides great value, but ensuring that it meets all the requirements sustainably and cost-effectively is challenging. Bridge investment and management decisions generally involve selection from multiple alternatives. LÄS MER

  2. 2. Life Cycle Costing : Supporting companies towards a circular economy

    Författare :Marianna Lena Kambanou; Mattias Lindahl; Tomohiko Sakao; Giuditta Pezzotta; Linköpings universitet; []
    Nyckelord :ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; life cycle costing; total cost of ownership; circular strategies; products as a service; through life costing; life cycle management; circular economy;

    Sammanfattning : Increased consumption has resulted in the depletion of non-renewable resources and an explosion in waste. A circular economy proposes to sustain economic growth but decouple it from resource consumption by keeping products and materials in the economy. LÄS MER

  3. 3. Modelling Life Cycle Cost for Indoor Climate Systems

    Författare :Dennis Johansson; Institutionen för bygg- och miljöteknologi; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; HVAC; life cycle cost; energy; Energy research; Energiforskning; Byggnadsteknik; Building construction; indoor climate system; ventilation; maintenance; LCC;

    Sammanfattning : The indoor climate system, which serves a building with a proper indoor air quality and thermal comfort, has been predominantly designed based on the initial cost. A life cycle approach could improve both the economic and environmental performance since the energy use could decrease. LÄS MER

  4. 4. Managing Uncertainty in Environmental and Cost Life Cycle Studies of Building Design

    Författare :Peter Ylmén; Kristina Mjörnell; Peter Ylmen; Tomas Ekvall; Jesper Arfvidsson; Johanna Berlin; Avdelningen för Byggnadsfysik; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Building design; life cycle; LCA; LCC; uncertainties; method; Building design;

    Sammanfattning : The building and construction sector accounted for 39% of energy and process-related carbon dioxide emissions in 2018 and global emissions from buildings increased by 2% for the second consecutive year. It is therefore important to find building design solutions that minimise the climate impact of buildings. LÄS MER

    Nyckelord :NATURAL SCIENCES; NATURVETENSKAP; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; NATURVETENSKAP; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; NATURAL SCIENCES; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Artificial intelligence AI ; Life cycle cost LCC ; Machine learning ML ; Multi-objective genetic algorithm MOGA ; Risk-based life cycle cost LCC ; Tunnel fans; Two-level system.; Drift och underhållsteknik; Operation and Maintenance;

    Sammanfattning : Artificial intelligence (AI) is one of the fields in science and engineering and encompasses a wide variety of subfields, ranging from general areas (learning and perception) to specific topics, such as mathematical theorems. AI and, specifically, multi-objective genetic algorithms (MOGAs) for risk-based life cycle cost (LCC) analysis should be performed to estimate the optimal replacement time of tunnel fan systems, with a view towards reducing the ownership cost and the risk cost and increasing company profitability from an economic point of view.
