1. Analysis of Arctic ice cloud properties using in-situ and remote sensing measurements
Sammanfattning : Cirrus clouds play an important role in the radiation balance of the atmosphere as theycan have a warming and cooling effect. The resulting net radiation effect depends ontheir micro- and macrophysical properties such as particle size, shape, and numberconcentration. LÄS MER
2. Submerged Transmission in Wave Energy Converters : Full Scale In-Situ Experimental Measurements
Sammanfattning : Different wave power technologies are in development around the world in different stages of prototype testing. So far only a few devices have been deployed offshore at full scale for extended periods of time. Little data is published about how these different devices perform. LÄS MER
3. Ionic transport of α-alumina below 1000°C : an in-situ impedance spectrosocpy study
Sammanfattning : Ionic conductivity of metal oxides is critical for the function of a broad range of different components, such as electrolytes in solid oxide fuel cells and alloys designed for high temperature applications. In both cases the ionic conductivity can be studied by in situ impedance spectroscopy, which is also able to reveal information on the dielectric properties of the metal oxides, and in some cases the influence of their microstructure. 4. Microsensors for in situ electron microscopy applications
Sammanfattning : With the ongoing miniaturisation of devices, the interest in characterising nanoscale physical properties has strongly increased. To further advance the field of nanotechnology new scientific tools are required. LÄS MER
5. In situ measurements of radionuclide concentration in soil : An investigation into detector properties and methods
Sammanfattning : In case of a release of radioactive nuclides into the environment it is necessary to have reliable methods to estimate the potential effect on people and the ecosystem. In this context the total activity deposited, the elemental composition and the depth distribution are of importance. LÄS MER
