  1. 1. CHALMEX FS-13 investigations for process implementation

    Författare :Thea Lyseid Authen; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Transmutation; SolventExtraction; CHALMEX; Partitioning; GANEX;

    Sammanfattning : From successive neutron absorption by uranium in nuclear reactors, transuranic elements such as neptunium, plutonium, americium and curium are produced. These elements are the main reason for the long-lived, highly radiotoxic and heat-producing nature of spent nuclear fuel. LÄS MER

  2. 2. Tread Braking of Railway Wheels - Noise-related Tread Roughness and Dimensioning Wheel Temperatures

    Författare :Tore V Vernersson; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; rail chill; block material; temperature; heat partitioning; railway; corrugation; thermoelastic analysis; tread braking; noise;

    Sammanfattning : Block braking is a commonly used braking system for freight wagons and other types of railway vehicles. One or several brake blocks are pressed against the tread (running surface) of the wheel, which is also in rolling contact with the rail. LÄS MER

  3. 3. Railway tread braking temperatures - Numerical simulation and experimental studies

    Författare :Shahab Teimourimanesh; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; railway tread braking; finite element analysis; railway wheels; rail chill; hot spots; frictional heating; heat partitioning; metro; field experiment; rig experiment;

    Sammanfattning : Tread (block) braking is still one of the most common braking systems on railway vehicles. The action is carried out by pressing brake blocks against the tread of a wheel, which is also in rolling contact with the rail. LÄS MER

  4. 4. Development of a Solvent Extraction Process for Group Actinide Recovery from Used Nuclear Fuel

    Författare :Emma Aneheim; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Partitioning; Solvent Extraction; Fission Products; TBP; BTBP; GANEX;

    Sammanfattning : When uranium is used as fuel in nuclear reactors it both undergoes neutron induced fission as well as neutron capture. Through successive neutron capture and beta decay transuranic elements such as neptunium, plutonium, americium and curium are produced in substantial amounts. LÄS MER

  5. 5. Water, Heat and Solute processes in Seasonally frozen Soils : Experimental and Modeling Study

    Författare :Mousong Wu; Per-Erik Jansson; Jiesheng Huang; Klas Hansson; David Gustafsson; Nicholas Jarvis; KTH; []
    Nyckelord :LANTBRUKSVETENSKAPER; AGRICULTURAL SCIENCES; frozen soil; water-heat-solute transport; coupled effects; water and energy balance; uncertainties; 冻土;水热盐运移;耦合关系;水热平衡;不确定性; Mark- och vattenteknik; Land and Water Resources Engineering;

    Sammanfattning : Soil freezing and thawing is of importance in transport of water, heat and solute, which has coupled effects. Solute type and solute content in frozen soil could influence the osmotic potential of frozen soil and decrease freezing point, resulting in differences in soil freezing characteristic curves under various solute conditions.
