  1. 1. Multidimensional Markov-Functional and Stochastic Volatiliy Interest Rate Modelling

    Författare :Linus Kajsajunti; Handelshögskolan i Stockholm; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES;

    Sammanfattning : This thesis consists of three papers in the area of interest rate derivatives modelling. The pricing and hedging of (exotic) interest rate derivatives is one of the most demanding and complex problems in option pricing theory and is of great practical importance in the market. LÄS MER

  2. 2. Ankle sprain : subjective and objective measures of functional impairment and treatment

    Författare :Johan Leanderson; Karolinska Institutet; Karolinska Institutet; []
    Nyckelord :Ankle sprain; epidemiology; postural sway; muscle torque; muscle imbalance; proprioception; joint position sense; figure-of-eight running; sick leave; ankle brace treatment; functional instability; basketball; ballet; soccer; taping; Sickness Impact;

    Sammanfattning : This thesis is based upon a series of studies were performed in order to provide more information about the etiology of late symptoms after ankle sprain, most often referred to as functional instability of the ankle joint. In a retrospective study of basketball players, the incidence of ankle sprains and the prevalence of late symptoms after such an injury were investigated. LÄS MER

  3. 3. Acute Achilles Tendon Rupture. Outcome, Prediction and Optimized treatment

    Författare :Niklas Olsson; Göteborgs universitet; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Achilles tendon rupture; Outcome; Functional evaluation; ATRS;

    Sammanfattning : The optimal treatment for Achilles tendon rupture is the subject of debate and could be either surgical or non-surgical with various alternatives in terms of immobilization and rehabilitation. The purpose of this thesis was to evaluate the short- and long-term outcome of a new surgical treatment protocol, including early tendon loading and ROM training, in comparison with non-surgical treatment using a functional brace. 4. 4. Anterior cruciate ligament injury : factors affecting selection of treatment and intermediate outcome

    Författare :Linda R Swirtun; Karolinska Institutet; Karolinska Institutet; []
    Nyckelord :ACL-reconstruction; functional brace; indications for surgery; non-operative treatment; personality; subsequent injuries;

    Sammanfattning : Aim: The aim of this comprehensive study was to evaluate whether anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) injured patients choosing non-operative treatment differ from those choosing ACL reconstruction regarding age, gender, personality, activity level prior to injury, anterior-posterior knee joint laxity and outcome as evaluated using the Knee Osteoarthritis Outcome Score (KOOS) five weeks following the ACL injury. Furthermore the reasons for choosing reconstruction were studied to determine whether patients who choose reconstructive surgery early do so for the same reasons as patients who choose reconstruction later. 5. 5. Rehabilitation following bone-patellar tendon-bone graft ACL reconstruction

    Författare :Christina Mikkelsen; Karolinska Institutet; Karolinska Institutet; []
    Nyckelord :ACL injury; ACL reconstruction; ACL rehabilitation; Anterior knee laxity; Closed kinetic chain; Extension deficit; Functional outcome score; Gender; Hyperextension brace; Isokinetic open kinetic chain; KOOS; KT-1000 arthrometer; Patello femoral pain; Personality characteristics; Physical activity; Quadriceps torque; Range of motion;

    Sammanfattning : The overall purpose of this Thesis was to improve treatment and rehabilitation after anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) reconstruction with bone-patellar tendon-bone graft. Study I: The purpose of this study was to evaluate and compare closed kinetic chain (CKC) training and a combination of closed and open kinetic chain (OKC) quadriceps exercises following ACL reconstruction on anterior knee laxity and isokinetic muscle torque.
