1. Radiological methods in rheumatoid arthritis and osteoarthritis
Sammanfattning : The dissertation's theme is the critical role of radiology when evaluating two different groups of patients. Firstly, patients with rheumatoid arthritis (RA) of the cervical spine were studied to evaluate upper spine instability with dynamic computed tomography (CT). LÄS MER
2. Anterior cruciate ligament reconstruction with bone-patellar tendon-bone graft : postoperative intervention and influential factors for patient-relevant long-term outcome
Sammanfattning : The overall aim of the present thesis was to assess patient-relevant outcome after anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) reconstruction and to improve the knowledge of which factors that may predict longterm outcome after bone-patellar tendon-bone ACL reconstruction. Study I: The purpose of this study was to evaluate the role of a brace after ACL reconstruction with bone-patellar tendon-bone graft on knee stability and knee function two years after surgery. 3. Rehabilitation after anterior cruciate ligament reconstruction using patellar tendon or hamstring grafts : open and closed kinetic chain exercises
Sammanfattning : Aim: The overall aim of this thesis was to improve the knowledge of appropriate exercises, the influence of preoperative factors for good clinical outcome as well as the patient s experience of the rehabilitation after anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) reconstruction with patellar tendon or hamstring graft. Methods: The strain in the anteromedial bundle of the ACL was measured with the strain gauge technique in nine patients scheduled for meniscectomy. LÄS MER
4. Knee Injury and Knee Osteoarthritis -Development, evaluation and clinical application of patient-relevant questionnaires
Sammanfattning : The overall purpose was to evaluate patient-relevant outcomes in patients with knee injury and post-traumatic osteoarthritis of the knee. A self-administered questionnaire, The Knee injury and Osteoarthritis Outcome Score (KOOS) was developed by literature search, consulting an expert panel (including patients referred to physical therapy because of knee-related problems, orthopedic surgeons, and physical therapists both from Sweden and the USA), and a pilot study. 5. Rehabilitation following bone-patellar tendon-bone graft ACL reconstruction
Sammanfattning : The overall purpose of this Thesis was to improve treatment and rehabilitation after anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) reconstruction with bone-patellar tendon-bone graft. Study I: The purpose of this study was to evaluate and compare closed kinetic chain (CKC) training and a combination of closed and open kinetic chain (OKC) quadriceps exercises following ACL reconstruction on anterior knee laxity and isokinetic muscle torque.
