A convenient way to describe the polarisation of two dimensional electromagnetic fields is given by the Stokes parameters.     Sammanfattning : The topic of this thesis is the introduction of two novel methods for using single particle microscopy as a tool for absolute number concentration measurements of Brownian particles.
