17. Tectonic History and Present-Day Deformation in the Zagros Fold-Thrust Belt
Sammanfattning : This thesis uses various approaches such as observation of satellite images, field investigations, analogue modeling and GPS measurements to constrain deformation of the basement and sedimentary cover of the Zagros fold-thrust belt in time and space.Focal mechanism solutions of most earthquakes indicate that deformation in the Zagros basement is due to shortening and thickening through numerous thrust faults. Sammanfattning : Airborne measurements performed within the framework of NOPEX (Northern Hemisphere Land Surface Climate Processes Experiment) have been used to study processes related to fluxes of momentum, heat, and moisture in the boundary layer in the Swedish boreal region. 19. Environmental Assessments of Landscape Changes : Interdisciplinary studies in rural Tanzania
Sammanfattning : This thesis aims to show how biogeophysical and social processes are interlinked in landscape change, and to propose approaches for interdisciplinary environmental assessments (such as EIAs), concentrating on developing countries’ situations, and representation of findings from such studies. 20. Improved data analysis methods for the millimetre-wave observation of strato-mesospheric ozone and winds over Northern Sweden
