41. On Speech-to-Text Alignment, Phonetic Labeling, and Recursive Signal Processing
Sammanfattning : Speech data-bases are an important issue in the study of speech communication. In particular, time-aligned and phonetically labeled speech data-bases are useful during the design of applications such as speech recognizers. The time-alignment and labeling of the speech data is traditionally done manually. LÄS MER
42. Graph Algorithms for Large-Scale and Dynamic Natural Language Processing
Sammanfattning : In Natural Language Processing, researchers design and develop algorithms to enable machines to understand and analyze human language. These algorithms benefit multiple downstream applications including sentiment analysis, automatic translation, automatic question answering, and text summarization. LÄS MER
43. Dynamic Management of Multi-Core Processor Resources to Improve Energy Efficiency under Quality-of-Service Constraints
Sammanfattning : With the current technology trends, the number of computers and computation demand is increasing dramatically. In addition to different economic and environmental costs at a large scale, the operational time of battery-powered devices is dependent on how efficiently the computer processors consume energy. 44. Change Point Detection with Applications to Wireless Sensor Networks
Sammanfattning : In this thesis work we develop a new algorithm for detecting joint changes in statistical behavior of multiple, simultaneously recorded, signals. Such signal analysis is commonly known as multivariate change point (CP) detection (CPD) and is of interest in many scientific and engineering applications. LÄS MER
45. Structure and Motion Estimation in Rigid Body Perspective Dynamic Systems
Sammanfattning : Abstract This thesis concerns different aspects of recursive estimation of structure and motion in dynamic rigid body perspective systems, where the three-dimensional position of observed object feature points are expressed as states in a system of deterministic or stochastic differential equations describing the object motion, combined with a set of output equations in the form of two-dimensional perspective measurements obtained using a single camera. Firstly, a number of novel hybrid matching constraints are derived for the recovery of motion parameters in a rigid body perspective system where the measurements can be considered as arriving at closely spaced time instants.
