  1. 6. Discrete Scale-Space Theory and the Scale-Space Primal Sketch

    Författare :Tony Lindeberg; Jan-Olof Eklundh; Jan. J Koenderink; KTH; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Computer vision; low-level processing; scale-space; diffusion; Gaussian filtering; discrete smoothing; primal sketch; segmentation; descriptive elements; scale detection; image structure; focus-of-attention; tuning low-level processing; blob detection; edge detection; edge focusing; histogram analysis; junction classification; perceptual grouping; texture analysis; critical points; classification of blob events; bifurcations; drift velocity; density of local extrema; multi-scale representation; digital signal processing; Computer Science; Datalogi;

    Sammanfattning : This thesis, within the subfield of computer science known as computer vision, deals with the use of scale-space analysis in early low-level processing of visual information. The main contributions comprise the following five subjects:The formulation of a scale-space theory for discrete signals. LÄS MER

  2. 7. Inference of Effective Pairwise Relations for Data Processing

    Författare :Fazeleh Sadat Hoseini; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Motion trajectory clustering; Concurrent programming; Representation Learning; Pairwise Relations; Memory Efficiency; Minimax Distance; Performance Modeling;

    Sammanfattning : In various data science and artificial intelligence areas, representation learning is a performance-critical step. While different representation learning methods can detect different descriptive and latent features, many representation learning methods reflect on pairwise relations. LÄS MER

  3. 8. The Sampling Pattern Cube : A Framework for Representation and Evaluation of Plenoptic Capturing Systems

    Författare :Mitra Damghanian; Mårten Sjöström; Roger Olsson; Göran Manneberg; Mittuniversitetet; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY;

    Sammanfattning : Digital cameras have already entered our everyday life. Rapid technological advances have made it easier and cheaper to develop new cameras with unconventional structures. The plenoptic camera is one of the new devices which can capture the light information which is then able to be processed for applications such as focus adjustments. LÄS MER

  4. 9. Losing the plot : architecture and narrativity in fin-de siècle media cultures

    Författare :Malin Zimm; Katja Grillner; Jennifer Blommer; KTH; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Architecture; architecture theory; narrativity; virtuality; virtual reality; spatiality; plot; architectural representation; fiction; plotless; 19th century media culture; Architecture; Arkitektur;

    Sammanfattning : This thesis investigates the role of the term plot in mediating relations between architecture and narrativity. Examining organisational strategies in the creation of real and virtual spaces, it identifies literary works by novelists who have resisted, or subverted, plot conventions in fiction (Joris-Karl Huysmans, Edmond de Goncourt, Xavier de Maistre and Neal Stephenson), and introduces architectural spaces such as Thomas Edison’s film-studio Black Maria, and the plotless productions of early cinematography, to juxtapose concepts of plot and spatiality in a study of the production and consumption of pre-digital virtual spaces. 5. 10. The Dynamics of Requirements and Product Concept Management A Product Modelling Approach

    Författare :Fredrik Andersson; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; requirements management; functional representation; product modelling; rationale; design theory and methodology; product development;

    Sammanfattning : Product development is in many respects the process of identifying and envisaging needs and bringing those needs into life. To make it challenging, the competition forces companies to continuously reduce development and manufacturing cost while increasing customer satisfaction. LÄS MER
