  1. 1. Electrifying the Molecules of Life : Peptide and Protein Analysis by Capillary Electrophoresis Coupled to Electrospray Ionization Mass Spectrometry

    Författare :Magnus Wetterhall; Jonas Bergquist; Karin E. Markides; Dominic M. Desiderio; Uppsala universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Analytical chemistry; Capillary electrophoresis CE ; Electrospray ionization ESI ; Mass spectrometry MS ; Peptides; Proteins; Cerebrospinal fluid CSF ; Graphite coating; Monomer coating; Polymer coating; Analytisk kemi; Analytical chemistry; Analytisk kemi;

    Sammanfattning : This thesis describes the current status and novel aspects of the analysis of the molecules of life, i.e. peptides and proteins, using capillary electrophoresis (CE) coupled to mass spectrometry (MS) via (sheathless) electrospray ionization (ESI). Early reports of sheathless CE-ESI-MS were plagued by limited lifetimes of the electrospray emitter. LÄS MER

  2. 2. Particle motion, coating and drying in Wurster fluidized beds - An experimental and discrete element modeling study

    Författare :Liang Li; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; airflow; Wurster; coating; CFD; particle; Fluidized bed; drying; PEPT; spray; DEM;

    Sammanfattning : This thesis focuses on developing a mathematical model that is capable of predicting the fluidized bed coating process. First a basic understanding of pellet motion in a Wurster fluidized bed was established by conducting a series of experiments using the positron emission particle tracking (PEPT) technique. LÄS MER

  3. 3. Process analytical methods for monitoring of the film coating on pharmaceutical pellets and tablets using NIR spectrometry and image analysis

    Författare :Martin Andersson; Centrum för analys och syntes; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; PLS; PCA; PAC; NIR; chemometrics; moving samples; information depth; release rate; image analysis; near infrared; process analytical chemistry; thickness; coating; film; tablets; Pellets; granules; Analytical chemistry; Analytisk kemi;

    Sammanfattning : Pharmaceutical tablets and pellets are often covered with a coating. There is a need for methods that enable monitoring of the growth of such films during processing. Such analyses can be performed using process analytical chemical methods based on near infrared (NIR) diffuse reflectance spectrometry. It provides with analyses that take only ca. LÄS MER

  4. 4. Electron Microscopy Investigation of Detailed Microstructures of CVD TiAlN and TiN Coatings - Effects of Gas Flow and Substrate on Coating Microstructure

    Författare :Ren Qiu; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; CVD; SEM; coating growth; EBSD; TEM;

    Sammanfattning : This thesis contains studies of topics of relevance to increase the understanding of TiN and TiAlN coatings synthesized by chemical vapour deposition (CVD) and low pressure CVD (LPCVD), respectively. This work contains two parts: (i) nanolamella LPCVD TiAlN coatings that were found to show a spatial variation of their chemical composition and microstructure, which was influenced by the gas flow speed of reactants; (ii) microstructure of CVD TiN coating deposited onto a CoCrFeNi multi-principal element alloy (MPEA)substrate. 5. 5. Microstructural investigation of CVD TiAlN, TiN and WN coatings

    Författare :Ren Qiu; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEM; XEDS; TiN; SEM; APT; TiAlN; coating growth; EBSD; WN; CVD;

    Sammanfattning : High speed machining of workpiece materials puts extreme thermal and pressure loads onto the cutting tool inserts, which thus must possess both high hardness and good toughness. Nowadays, most cutting tools are made of cemented carbide substrates that are coated with wear-resistant coatings. LÄS MER
