21. Preparation and characterization of graphene/metal composites
Sammanfattning : Since the isolation of graphene in 2004, much research has been conducted to understand this novel material and how its properties can be utilized in different applications. One type of venture involves graphene as a reinforcing filler in metal matrix composites (MMC) which is becoming increasingly prevalent in the automotive and aerospace industries. LÄS MER
22. On the stability of proteins from hyperthermophiles : a structural and thermodynamic study
Sammanfattning : In this study the structural and thermodynamic basis of the thermal stability of proteins has been studied using proteins from hyperthermophilic organisms as model systems. A new type of chaperonin (TF55) has been isolated from the hyperthermophilic archaeon Sulfolobus solfataricus consisting of two different subunits named TF55-alpha and TF55-beta. LÄS MER
23. Shells and filament in flows
Sammanfattning : The motivation to study elastic structures such as filaments and shells stemmed from its application in the construction of tall buildings, bridges etc. Interest in this field has rekindled in the past decades due to growing interest in understanding biological materials and because of possible applications in nanoscience and medicine. 24. Aromatic Polymers Functionalized with Anionic and Cationic Groups for Ion Exchange Membranes
Sammanfattning : Fuel cells, redox flow batteries and some water desalination technologies such as reverse osmosis and electrodialysis require efficient ion exchange membranes to perform in an optimum way. Thus, by enhancing the properties of these membranes there is a possibility to improve this type of applications and technologies. LÄS MER
25. Restraint factors and partial coefficients for crack risk analyses of early age concrete structures
Sammanfattning : It is well known for contractors that due to volume change during the hydration phase in concrete structures, large stresses can arise if the structures are restrained, stresses that may cause extensive cracking. Crack risk estimation of early age concrete structures can be based on five steps. LÄS MER
