21. Human herpesvirus 6 infection after allogeneic stem cell transplantation
Sammanfattning : Human herpesvirus 6 (HHV-6) is a lymphotropic virus mainly infecting T lymphocytes but also other types of cells. Seroepidemiological studies have shown that more than 90% of individuals older than 2 years are seropositive for HHV-6. LÄS MER
22. The role of virus neutralization in primate lentivirus pathogenesis
Sammanfattning : The antiviral neutralizing activity of sera from primate lentivirus-infected human and monkey hosts was studied. In addition, factors affecting the neutralization reaction were investigated. In simian immunodeficiency virus (SIVsm)-infected macaque monkeys, SIVsm variants able to escape neutralization emerged regularly. LÄS MER
23. Development of novel molecular and microfluidics tools for identification and characterization of latent HIV-1 reservoir
Sammanfattning : The existence of latent HIV-1 reservoir (LR) in all HIV-1 infected patients serves as a major obstacle to completely cure HIV-1 infection. However, up to now there is still no available assay that provides an accurate measurement of the reservoir size. LÄS MER
24. Silicon Nanopore Arrays : Fabrication and Applications for DNA Sensing
Sammanfattning : Nanopore biomolecule sensing and sequencing has emerged as a simple but powerful tool for single molecule studies over the past two decades. By elec- trophoretically driving single molecules through a nanometer-sized pore, often sitting in an insulating membrane that separates two buffer solutions, ionic current blockades can be detected to reveal rich information of the molecules, such as DNA length, protein size and conformation, even nucleic acid se- quence. 25. Investigating and Enhancing Performance of Multiple Antenna Systems in Compact MIMO/Diversity Terminals
Sammanfattning : Today, owners of small communicating device are interested in transmitting or receiving various multimedia data. By increasing the number of antennas at the transmitter and/or the receiver side of the wireless link, the diversity/Multiple-Input Multiple-Output (MIMO) techniques can increase wireless channel capacity without the need for additional power or spectrum in rich scattering environments.
