1. Characterization of Low Cost Printed Sensors for Smart Packaging
Sammanfattning : Currently there are very significant interests in printed electronics in the world. The possibility to produce electronics in a roll to roll printing process will considerably reduce the cost of the electronic devices. LÄS MER
2. Detecting Inclusions in a Silicone Rubber Phantom Using Standing Lamb Waves and Multiple Frequency Footprints
Sammanfattning : The thesis deals with one major question: is it possible, using one piezoelectric sensor/vibrator, to detect a hard inclusion in a silicone rubber phantom? The question was approached with an open mind and the task was subdivided into three clearly identifiable parts: characterization of the piezoelectric sensor/vibrator (paper I), creating a model of the visco-elastic properties of a tissue-like material (phantom) in contact with the sensor/vibrator (paper II), and to detect the presence of a hard inclusion in the phantom (paper III). All vibrations of the sensor/vibrator and phantom was modeled using a finite element method (FEM). LÄS MER
3. Characterization of an Electrical Sensor for Combustion Diagnostics
Sammanfattning : The ionization sensor is an electrical probe for diagnostics in internal combustion engines. The combustion process affects the electrical properties of the gas in the cylinder. Thus the sensor signal contains copious information about the conditions in the combustion chamber. LÄS MER
4. System integration of electronic functionality in packaging application
Sammanfattning : Sensor applications are becoming increasingly important as products are now being requested to be more and more intelligent and safe. As the costs involved in sensor technology decrease its usage will spread to new market segments including new areas with products that have never previously used such functionalities, including, wood fibre based products for packaging, hygiene or graphical use. 5. Measurements of Respiratory Carbon Dioxide
