  1. 11. Computational Studies of Metal Clusters and Carbon Nanotubes

    Författare :Anders Börjesson; Högskolan i Borås; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; carbon nanotube; metal clusters; nanotubesmetal junction; melting temperatures; nanotechnology; molecular dynamics; monte carlo; tight binding; atomistic simulations; Energi och material;

    Sammanfattning : Carbon nanotubes constitute a promising candidate material in the realisation of nanoscaled electronics. This requires the ability for systematic production of carbon nanotubes with certain properties. This is called selective carbon nanotube growth. LÄS MER

  2. 12. Remediation of mercury polluted soil

    Författare :Thomas Lifvergren; Bert Allard; Örebro universitet; []
    Nyckelord :soil pollution; soil remediaion; mercury; NATURAL SCIENCES; NATURVETENSKAP; Enviromental Science; Miljövetenskap;

    Sammanfattning : Mercury in contaminated soil constitutes a wide spectrum of species with highly different properties due to the chemical complexity of the element. Assessments of risk, ecological effects and removal potential require process and mobility studies. LÄS MER

  3. 13. Quantified In Situ Analysis of Initial Atmospheric Corrosion : Surface heterogeneity, galvanic effects and corrosion product distribution on zinc, brass and Galvalume

    Författare :Ping Qiu; Christofer Leygraf; Béatrice Hannoyer; KTH; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Atmospheric corrosion; Zinc; Brass; Galvalume; In Situ; Quantification.; Materials science; Teknisk materialvetenskap;

    Sammanfattning : The interaction of the surface of a pure metal or an alloy with the surrounding atmosphere occurs in a highly complex interfacial regime. During atmospheric corrosion this interfacial regime involves the metal surface, often covered by a naturally formed oxide layer of a few nanometers thickness; an aqueous adlayer, typically with a thickness of a few to a few tens of nanometers, and the atmosphere from which airborne particles, oxygen, and gaseous pollutants dissolve into the adlayer and influence the atmospheric corrosion process. 4. 14. Environment Related Surface Phenomena and their Influence on Properties of Ti-6Al-4V and Ti-6Al-2Sn-4Zr-2Mo : Oxidation at Elevated Temperature and Corrosion During Chemical Treatment

    Författare :Birhan Sefer; Luleå tekniska universitet; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Materialteknik; Engineering Materials;

    Sammanfattning : This doctoral thesis covers investigation of the surface phenomena of Ti-6Al-4V and Ti-6Al-2Sn-4Zr-2Mo alloys related with oxidation at elevated temperature and corrosion duringchemical treatment in hydrofluoric-nitric acid (HF/HNO3) solutions. The explored phenomenaare related to manufacturing and service conditions of aero-engine components. LÄS MER

  5. 15. High Temperature Corrosion of Stainless Steels in Low Oxygen Activity Environments -The effect of H2 and H2O

    Författare :Hamed Hoseini Hooshyar; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; pre-oxidation; chromia former; H2O; High Temperature Corrosion; alumina former; H2;

    Sammanfattning : Gasification of biomass and waste is promising for reducing the use of fossil fuels. While the operation conditions of superheaters and gas coolers in the gasifier are restricted by gas-side corrosion, scientific investigations are very scarce in this field. LÄS MER
