  1. 1. Information Centric Development of Component-Based Embedded Real-Time Systems

    Författare :Andreas Hjertström; Mikael Sjödin; Dag Nyström; Luis Almeida; Mälardalens högskola; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Database; Real-Time; RTDBMS; Component; CBSE; Database proxy; Data entity; data management; Computer science; Datavetenskap; Computer Science; datavetenskap;

    Sammanfattning : This thesis presents new techniques for data management of run-time data objectsin component-based embedded real-time systems. These techniques enabledata to be modeled, analyzed and structured to achieve data managementduring development, maintenance and execution. LÄS MER

  2. 2. Virtual Full Replication for Scalable Distributed Real-Time Databases

    Författare :Gunnar Mathiason; Sten F. Andler; Sang H. Son; Hans Hansson; Alejandro Buchmann; Linköpings universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Scalability; Flexibility; Adaptiveness; Database Replication; Resource Management; Distributed Database; Real-time Database; Computer science; Datalogi; Information technology; Informationsteknik; Teknik;

    Sammanfattning : A fully replicated distributed real-time database provides high availability and predictable access times, independent of user location, since all the data is available at each node. However, full replication requires that all updates are replicated to every node, resulting in exponential growth of bandwidth and processing demands with the number of nodes and objects added. 3. 3. Towards Aspectual Component-Based Real-Time System Development

    Författare :Aleksandra Tešanović; Linköpings universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; aspect-oriented software development; component-based software development; real-time systems; embedded systems; database systems; aspects; components; worst-case execution time; Computer science; Datavetenskap;

    Sammanfattning : Increasing complexity of real-time systems and demands for enabling their configurability and tailorability are strong motivations for applying new software engineering principles such as aspect-oriented and component-based software development. The integration of these two techniques into real-time systems development would enable: (i) efficient system configuration from the components in the component library based on the system requirements, (ii) easy tailoring of components and/or a system for a specific application by changing the behavior (code) of the component by aspect weaving, and (iii) enhanced flexibility of the real-time and embedded software through the notion of system configurability and component tailorability. 4. 4. Management of Real-Time Data Consistency and Transient Overloads in Embedded Systems

    Författare :Thomas Gustafsson; Jörgen Hansson; Ming Xiong; Linköpings universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Real-time systems; Real-time databases; Embedded systems; Similarity; Transient overloads; Computer science; Datalogi;

    Sammanfattning : This thesis addresses the issues of data management in embedded systems' software. The complexity of developing and maintaining software has increased over the years due to increased availability of resources, e.g., more powerful CPUs and larger memories, as more functionality can be accommodated using these resources. 5. 5. QoS Control of Real-Time Data Services under Uncertain Workload

    Författare :Mehdi Amirijoo; Jörgen Hansson; Sang Son; Svante Gunnarsson; Joseph Hellerstein; Linköpings universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; real-time system; database; feedback control; Computer science; Datavetenskap;

    Sammanfattning : Real-time systems comprise computers that must generate correct results in a timely manner. This involves a wide spectrum of computing systems found in our everyday life ranging from computers in rockets to our mobile phones. The criticality of producing timely results defines the different types of realtime systems. LÄS MER
