1. Resonant and Non-Resonant Electron Spectroscopy of Free Molecules and Free Clusters
Sammanfattning : Resonant electron spectroscopy has been performed on the diatomic molecules CO, N2 and HCl. Core-excitations were made to bound and dissociative intermediate electronic states. Fundamental interference phenomena are observed and discussed in the framework of ”X-ray Raman Scattering Theory”. LÄS MER
2. Multi-Electron Coincidence Studies of Atoms and Molecules
Sammanfattning : This thesis concerns multi-ionization coincidence measurements of atoms and small molecules using a magnetic bottle time-of-flight (TOF) spectrometer designed for multi-electron coincidence studies. Also, a time-of-flight mass spectrometer has been used together with the TOF electron spectrometer for electron-ion coincidence measurements. LÄS MER
3. Studies of Single and Multiple Ionization Processes in Rare Gases and some Small Molecules
Sammanfattning : In this thesis various aspects of photoionization are investigated with respect to both single and multiple electron emission from atoms and molecules. The studies include both valence and core levels and involve transitions which leave the atoms or molecules in various charge states. LÄS MER
4. Single-photon multiple ionization processes studied by electron coincidence spectroscopy
Sammanfattning : This thesis is based on studies of multiple ionization of atoms and molecules induced by the absorption of a single photon. For the experimental investigations a time-of-flight magnetic bottle spectrometer has been used to detect the emitted electrons in coincidence. LÄS MER
5. Applications of Soft X-Ray Spectroscopy
Sammanfattning : Soft X-ray emission spectroscopy is an old experimental technique that has seen a strong revival since the advent of new high brilliance soft X-ray sources in the shape of synchrotrons. This thesis covers a range of applications where soft x-ray techniques have been applied. LÄS MER
