21. Structural Changes in Nonionic Surfactant Systems
Sammanfattning : In this thesis we have studied structural changes of a nonionic surfactant self-assembly, as governed by changes in temperature and concentration. The techniques used in experimental investigations were dynamic and static light scattering, nuclear magnetic resonance and cryo-transmission electron microscopy (using a novel specimen preparation protocol). 22. Increasing Ethical Awareness : The Enhancement of Long-Term Effects of Ethics Teaching: A Quantitative Study
Sammanfattning : In this study, the impact of two different “methods” for teaching ethics as part of the religious education in the Swedish upper secondary school have been compared by means of a non-randomized controlled trial in two parts, involving 15 teachers and 524 students. The question was which “method” had the greatest capacity to generate long-term ethical awareness in the students. LÄS MER
23. Clinical Perspectives on Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD): Long-term, Naturalistic Follow-ups in Childhood and in Adulthood
Sammanfattning : The overall aim of this thesis was to evaluate the long-term outcome of Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) in childhood and in adulthood, as it is presented in typical patients in real-world settings. Study I assessed treatment outcome and predictive factors after 1 year in 253 children with ADHD. LÄS MER
24. Visualization of Peripheral Pain Generating Processes and Inflammation in Musculoskeletal Tissue using [11C]-D-deprenyl PET
Sammanfattning : An objective visualization and quantification of pain-generating processes in the periphery would alter pain diagnosis and represent an important paradigm shift in pain research. Positron emission tomography (PET) radioligand [11C]-D-deprenyl has shown an elevated uptake in painful inflammatory arthritis and whiplash-associated disorder. LÄS MER
25. Diet and dietary biomarkers during pregnancy and lactation in relation to offspring allergy development
Sammanfattning : Allergy causes a large burden on society and reduces the quality of life for the individual. The increased allergy incidence over the last decades cannot be explained by genetics. Research has indicated that diet, which is a modifiable factor, might influence the risk of developing allergy. LÄS MER
