  1. 21. Stone Age Companions: Humans and animals in hunter-gatherer burials in north-eastern Europe

    Författare :Aija Macane; Göteborgs universitet; []
    Nyckelord :HUMANIORA; HUMANITIES; human–animal relationships; relational ontologies; companionship perspective; burial archaeology; mortuary practices; zooarchaeology; hunter-gatherers; Stone Age; Mesolithic; Neolithic; north-eastern Europe; southern Sweden; Latvia; central European Russia;

    Sammanfattning : This thesis examines the relationships between humans and animals in their mutual environment and how these relationships were expressed in the burial practices of northern foragers. The empirical research material consists of animal remains, particularly animal tooth pendants, deposited in graves at Zvejnieki (Latvia), Skateholm I and II (Sweden) and Sakhtysh II and IIa (Russia) cemeteries. 2. 22. Unwrapping Cobol : Lessons in Crisis Computing

    Författare :Linda Hilfling Ritasdatter; Susan Kozel; Maria Hellström Reimer; Florian Cramer; Nishant Shah; Malmö universitet; []
    Nyckelord :Crisis; Execution; Maintenance; Cobol; Automation; Global Flows; Y2K; Human Factor; Outsourcing; Development; Legacy Systems; Programming Languages; History of Computing; HCI; Software Wrapping; Postcolonial Studies; Diffraction; Broken world thinking; Grace Hopper; Media Archaeology; Debugging; Zombie Media; Obsolescence; Technological Development; Unsettling Ontologies; Fourth Industrial Revolution; Artificial Intelligence; Interaktionsdesign; Interaktionsdesign;

    Sammanfattning : By engaging with COBOL, a detested and would-be obsolete programming language, the dark sides of automation are examined in this thesis: hidden workforces and computational infrastructures that are, in reality, central to the execution and maintenance of global economic and informational flows. Frictions within these flows are made more visible in moments of crisis when asymmetrical power structures are surfaced, as demonstrated in an analysis of the infamous Y2K Bug, its connection to the outsourcing boom in India and the legacy of COBOL. 3. 23. Improving E-Business Design through Business Model Analysis

    Författare :Tharaka Ilayperuma; Paul Johannesson; William Song; Stockholms universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; E-Business Applications; Business Models; Business Model Ontologies; Goal-aligned Business Models; Business Collaborations; E-Service Design; Computer and systems science; Data- och systemvetenskap; datorteknik; Computer Systems;

    Sammanfattning : To a rapidly increasing degree, traditional organizational structures evolve in large parts of the world towards online business using modern Information and Communication Technology (ICT) capabilities. For efficient applications of inter-organizational information systems, the alignment between business and ICT is a key factor. LÄS MER

  4. 24. Ontology Integration with Non-Violation Check and Context Extraction

    Författare :Dan Wu; Anne Håkansson; Carl-Gustaf Jansson; Paul Johannesson; KTH; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; ontology matching and integration; semantic and pragmatic matching; semantic techniques; context; ontology and rules; SRA - ICT; SRA - Informations- och kommunikationsteknik;

    Sammanfattning : Matching and integrating ontologies has been a desirable technique in areas such as data fusion, knowledge integration, the Semantic Web and the development of advanced services in distributed system. Unfortunately, the heterogeneities of ontologies cause big obstacles in the development of this technique. LÄS MER

  5. 25. Integration of Ontology Alignment and Ontology Debugging for Taxonomy Networks

    Författare :Valentina Ivanova; Patrick Lambrix; Nahid Shahmehri; Eero Hyvönen; Linköpings universitet; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; ontology; ontology engineering; ontology alignment; ontology debugging;

    Sammanfattning : Semantically-enabled applications, such as ontology-based search and data integration, take into account the semantics of the input data in their algorithms. Such applications often use ontologies, which model the application domains in question, as well as alignments, which provide information about the relationships between the terms in the different ontologies.
