  1. 11. The role and mechanism of ubiquitin system in innate immune regulation

    Författare :Swarupa Panda; Nelson O. Gekara; Fredrik Elgh; Anna Överby; Geert van Loo; Umeå universitet; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; The ubiquitin system; Deubiquitinase; MYSM1; Innate immune regulation Toll-like receptor; RIG-l like receptors; Cytoplasmic DNA receptors; NOD-like receptors; Francisella tularensis; Immune subversion; molekylärbiologi; Molecular Biology;

    Sammanfattning : Pattern-recognition receptors (PRRs) include the cell surface or endosomal membrane localized Toll-like receptors (TLRs) and the cytoplasmic PRRs such as RIG-I-like receptors (RLRs), NOD-like receptors (NLRs) and cytoplasmic DNA receptors (CDRs). Triggering of PRRs culminates in the transcriptional induction of pro-inflammatory cytokines and type I interferons (IFNs) that coordinate protection against pathogens but require tight control to avert inflammatory diseases. 2. 12. Waldenstrom's macroglobulinemia : population based studies of familial aggregation and prognostic factors

    Författare :Lena Brandefors; Beatrice S. Melin; Ola Landgren; Umeå universitet; []
    Nyckelord :Waldenstrom’s macroglobulinemia; lymphoplasmacytic lymphoma; monoclonal gammopathy of undetermined significance; Swedish Lymphoma Registry; incidence; overall survival; prognostic factors; familial Waldenstrom’s macroglobulinemia; hyperphosphorylated paratarg 7;

    Sammanfattning : BackgroundWaldenstrom’s macroglobulinemia (WM) is a rare lymphoproliferative disorder with a world-wide incidence of 3-4 patients per million persons per year. In Sweden, the incidence was about three times higher, and approximately 100 patients per year are reported to the Swedish Lymphoma Registry (SLR). LÄS MER

  3. 13. Pattern-recognition receptors and neutrophils in cancer inflammation

    Författare :Camilla Rydberg Millrud; Karolinska Institutet; Karolinska Institutet; []
    Nyckelord :;

    Sammanfattning : Chronic inflammation, induced by the use of tobacco and alcohol, or caused by infections has long been suggested to constitute a risk factor for head and neck squamous cell carcinoma (HNSCC). The innate immunity is the first line of defense against pathogens, comprising physical and chemical barriers, anti-microbial peptides, pattern-recognition receptors (PRRs) as well as different kinds of cells, including neutrophils. 4. 14. Pattern-recognition receptors in airway inflammation

    Författare :Anna-Karin Ekman; Karolinska Institutet; Karolinska Institutet; []
    Nyckelord :;

    Sammanfattning : Airway inflammation is a defining feature of allergic rhinitis and asthma. Bacterial and viral infections are known to cause exacerbations of both diseases, but knowledge about the mechanisms involved is limited. LÄS MER
