1. Toward Carbon based NEMS
Sammanfattning : A systematic analysis and assessment of carbon nanotube (CNT) based NEMS switches is presented and their features are compared to typical complementary metal-oxide-semiconductor (CMOS) performance parameters. It is shown that CNT-based switches with considerably smaller leakage current compared to CMOS switches can be realized. LÄS MER
2. Electromechanical Instability in Suspended Nanowire-Based NEMS
Sammanfattning : "Nanoelectromechanical systems'' (NEMS) are a class of nanometer-sized mechanical structures coupled to electronic device of comparable dimensions. Their peculiar features make them interesting both from the technological and fundamental research viewpoints. LÄS MER
3. There's Plenty of Room in Higher Dimensions - Nonlinear Dynamics of Nanoelectromechanical Systems
Sammanfattning : Nanoelectromechanical systems (NEMS) couple the dynamics of electrons to vibrating nanostructures such as suspended beams or membranes. These resonators can be used in for instance nanoelectronics and sensor applications. NEMS are also of fundamental interest since electrons exhibit strong quantum effects when confined in nanoobjects. LÄS MER
4. Modelling of Molecular-Scale Nanoelectromechanical Systems
Sammanfattning : Nanoelectromechanical systems (NEMS) couple electronic and mechanical degrees of freedom in a nanoscopic structure. The small size introduces many atomistic and quantum mechanical features which on the one hand open up for interesting new features and possibilities but on the other hand make it very difficult to formulate quantitative predictions. 5. Integration and Fabrication Techniques for 3D Micro- and Nanodevices
Sammanfattning : The development of micro and nano-electromechanical systems (MEMS and NEMS) with entirely new or improved functionalities is typically based on novel or improved designs, materials and fabrication methods. However, today’s micro- and nano-fabrication is restrained by manufacturing paradigms that have been established by the integrated circuit (IC) industry over the past few decades. LÄS MER
