  1. 1. Evolution of olfaction in Lepidoptera and Trichoptera : Gene families and antennal morphology

    Författare :Jothi Kumar Yuvaraj; Funktionell zoologi; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; evolution; pheromone receptors; olfaction; chemosensory; sensillum; HEK 293 cells;

    Sammanfattning : In moths, females produce sex pheromone compounds to attract males over a long distance for mating. The antennae of moths and many other insects have specialized odorant receptors (ORs), called pheromone receptors (PRs), to sense the pheromone compounds and they group in a monophyletic clade (PR clade). 2. 2. Species Limits and Systematics in Some Passerine Birds

    Författare :Per Alström; Timothy M. Crowe; Uppsala universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Organismic biology; Mirafra; Seicercus; Phylloscopus; Motacilla; species concepts; species limits; phylogeny; morphology; vocalisations; mitochondrial DNA; nuclear DNA; incongruence; Organismbiologi; Organism biology; Organismbiologi; systematisk zoologi; Systematic Zoology;

    Sammanfattning : I use morphological, vocal, molecular, behavioural, ecological and distributional data to re-evaluate the systematics of three passerine bird groups, the Mirafraassamica complex (bush-larks), the genus Seicercus ("spectacled-warblers"; with emphasis on the the S. burkii complex) and the genus Motacilla (wagtails). 3. 3. Evolutionary Studies in Asterids Emphasising Euasterids II

    Författare :Jesper Kårehed; Mats H. G. Gustafsson; Uppsala universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Organismic biology; Apiales; Aquifoliales; Asterales; asterids; Bayesian inference; Cardiopteridaceae; DNA sequence data; Icacinaceae; morphology; parsimony; Pennantiaceae; phylogeny; Stemonuraceae; Organismbiologi; Organism biology; Organismbiologi; systematisk botanik; Systematic Botany;

    Sammanfattning : This thesis deals with evolutionary relationships within the asterids, a group of plants comprising about one-third of all flowering plants.Two new families are recognised: Pennantiaceae and Stemonuraceae. The woody Pennantia from New Zealand and Australia is the sole genus of Pennantiaceae. LÄS MER

  4. 4. Early Cambrian Problematic Lophotrochozoans and Dilemmas of Scleritome Reconstructions

    Författare :Cecilia M Larsson; Lars E Holmer; Christian B Skovsted; Anette E S Högström; John S Peel; Glenn A Brock; Michael J Vendrasco; Uppsala universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Problematica; scleritome; Trachyplax; tommotiid; Cambrian; South Australia; North Greenland; Earth Science with specialization in Historical Geology and Palaeontology; Geovetenskap med inriktning mot historisk geologi och paleontologi;

    Sammanfattning : The emergence and radiation of metazoan body plans around the Precambrian/Cambrian boundary, some 500-600 million years ago, seems to be concordant with the appearance and diversification of preservable hard parts. Several Precambrian soft-bodied, multicellular organisms most likely represent stem-group bilaterians, but their fossil record is rather sparse. LÄS MER

  5. 5. Systematics of Echiochilon and Ogastemma (Boraginaceae), and the Phylogeny of Boraginoideae

    Författare :Elisabeth Långström; Per Ola Karis; Uppsala universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Organismic biology; Antiphytum; Echiochilon; Ogastemma; Boraginaceae; Echiochileae trib. nov.; phylogeny; ITS; floral morphology; atpB; tribes; biogeography; Africa; America; Organismbiologi; Organism biology; Organismbiologi; Systematisk botanik; Systematic Botany;

    Sammanfattning : Echiochilon, Ogastemma and Sericostoma are revised resulting in the recognition of 15 species of Echiochilon and one Ogastemma species. Several species are placed in synonymy and three new species are described, E. baricum, E. callianthum and E. LÄS MER
