11. Redefining the essential molecular aspects that drive interactions between small molecules and G-quadruplex DNA
Sammanfattning : G-Quadruplex (G4) structures are secondary nucleic acid structures located in guanine-rich regions of DNA and RNA sequences, involved in gene regulation and cellular maintenance. Efforts to target G4s in a therapeutic setting are scarce, mainly due to vague details about the binding interactions between the ligands and the G4 structure combined with the lack of emphasis on drug-like properties early in the ligand development process. 12. Interpreting the human transcriptome
Sammanfattning : The human body is made of billions of cells and nearly all have the same genome. However, there is a high diversity of cells, resulted from what part of the genome the cells use, i.e. which RNA molecules are expressed. LÄS MER
13. Molecular Structure and Packing of Platinum(II) Complexes with S-donor Ligands in the Solid State An X-ray Crystallographic Study
Sammanfattning : How do molecules arrange themselves in a crystal? It is today not possible to definite predict the three-dimensional packing arrangement of molecules in the crystalline solid state. The aim of the work presented in this thesis has been to gain more knowledge of what principles that govern molecular packing. LÄS MER
14. Biocatalysed redox reactions - Possibilities and limitations
Sammanfattning : The use of enzymes for synthetic applications is an area of increasing interest. Enzymes have been pointed out to be an environmentally friendly alternative to existing chemical methods, as well as making completely new synthetic routes possible. LÄS MER
15. Nuclear motion in molecular ions studied with synchrotron radiation and multicoincidence momentum imaging spectrometry
Sammanfattning : A momentum imaging spectrometer optimized for photoionization experiments with synchrotron radiation was built in 2008. The spectrometer is equipped with an electrostatic lens, that focuses the charged dissociation products on to a position-sensitive multi-hit delay line anode. LÄS MER
