  1. 21. Stepping into Catalysis : Kinetic and Mechanistic Investigations of Photo- and Electrocatalytic Hydrogen Production with Natural and Synthetic Molecular Catalysts

    Författare :Daniel Streich; Leif Hammarström; Reiner Lomoth; Clifford Kubiak; Uppsala universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Artificial photosynthesis; photocatalysis; electrocatalysis; hydrogen production; proton reduction; hydrogenase; iron complex; active site model; catalytic mechanism; transient absorption; spectroscopy; electrochemistry; cyclic voltammetry; Kemi med inriktning mot kemisk fysik; Chemistry with specialization in Chemical Physics;

    Sammanfattning : In light of its rapidly growing energy demand, human society has an urgent need to become much more strongly reliant on renewable and sustainable energy carriers. Molecular hydrogen made from water with solar energy could provide an ideal case. LÄS MER

    Sammanfattning : Reactions of trans-dicyanodichloroaurate(III) trans-dibromodicyanoaurate(III), trans-diamminedichlorogold(III), cis-diammine(aqua)chloroplatinum(II), cis-ammineaqua-(cyclohexylamine)chloroplatinum(II), chloro(terpyridine)platinum(II) and chloro-(diethylenetriaminepalldium(II) with dimethyl sulfide, thionucleosides, thionucleotides and thione- and guanine-containing 17-mer oligonucleotides have been investigated by use of conventional and high-pressure stopped-flow spectrophotometry and HPLC technique as a function of ionic strength, pH, temperature and pressure in aqueous solutions. The mechanism and rate of oxidation of dimethyl sulfide by gold(III) complexes depends on the concentration of free halide. LÄS MER

  3. 23. Optimization of Chemical Kinetic Mechanisms and Numerical Simulations of Industrial Gas Turbine Burners

    Författare :Abdallah Abou-Taouk; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; SAS-SST; LES; Gas Turbine Combustion; Swirling Flow; Global Mechanism; Finite Rate Chemistry; Partially Premixed Flames; Chemistry Reduction; RANS;

    Sammanfattning : Increasing demands on environmentally friendly energy conversion indicate that pollutants need to be reduced. Computational Fluid Dynamics is efficiently used today in turbulent reaction flow simulations to gain a deeper understanding of the combustion process and consequently be able to improve combustor design and reduce emissions. 4. 24. Glutaredoxins : structure, function and mechanism

    Författare :Fredrik Åslund; Karolinska Institutet; Karolinska Institutet; []
    Nyckelord :;

    Sammanfattning : Thioredoxin (Trx) and glutaredoxin (Grx) are small (9-12 kDa) intracellular disulfide reducing enzymes. They were originally described as hydrogen donors for ribonucleotide reductase (RR), the enzyme that catalyzes the conversion of ribonucleotides to deoxyribonucleotides. LÄS MER

  5. 25. Kinetic Studies of NO Oxidation and Reduction over Silver-Alumina Catalyst

    Författare :Muhammad Mufti Azis; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TPD; Silver Alumina; HC-SCR; Kinetic modeling; Hydrogen effect; NOx reduction; NO oxidation.;

    Sammanfattning : In line with growing concerns to manufacture more environmentally friendly vehicles, the use of internal combustion engines operating with oxygen excess or so called lean-burn engines will continue to be increasingly used. For lean-burn operation, reduction of NOx (NO+NO2) emissions is a major challenge and it is therefore urgently required to develop efficient and reliable NOx reduction aftertreatment systems for a wide variety of lean-burn or diesel engines.
