16. Ventilation of a Model Hydro-Generator, An Experimental and Numerical Study
Sammanfattning : Generators are sophisticated machines used to convert the mechanical energy of a prime mover into electrical energy. Electromagnetic and mechanical losses accompany this energy conversion process. Cooling systems remove the heat, generated by losses, from these machines. LÄS MER
17. The effect of mechanical ventilation on the abdominal organs
Sammanfattning : During mechanical ventilation (MV), the interplay between abdomen and thorax has been studied unilaterally focusing on the effect that an increased abdominal pressure would have on the thorax. Only a small cluster of studies offered a different perspective showing a lower inflammation and a better lymphatic clearance of edema in abdominal organs when spontaneous breathing was applied compared to MV. 18. Optimization of the Flow Process in Engine Bays - 3D Fan Modeling Strategies
Sammanfattning : In todays automotive industry there is an apparent need and demand for low fuel consuming vehicles. This is a fact every automotive OEM is aware of and the heavy duty truck industry is no exception. With a cooling fan in today’s trucks that typically consumes of the order of magnitude 50bHp fully engaged - reducing this loss is very important. LÄS MER
19. ON THE EFFICIENCY OF DISPLACEMENT VENTILATION, with Particular Reference to the Influence of Human Physical Activity
Sammanfattning : The efficiency of room ventilation by the displacement principle was studied with respect to some influential factors, in particular that of physical activity. The study was experimental and performed in two full-scale test rooms, one of office-size and one of classroom-size. LÄS MER
20. Protective Mechanical Ventilation in Inflammatory and Ventilator-Associated Pneumonia Models
Sammanfattning : Severe infections, trauma or major surgery can each cause a state of systemic inflammation. These causes for systemic inflammation often coexist and complicate each other. Mechanical ventilation is commonly used during major surgical procedures and when respiratory functions are failing in the intensive care setting. LÄS MER
