  1. 11. PET and MR imaging in prostate cancer

    Författare :Kristina Sandgren; Tufve Nyholm; Joakim Jonsson; Camilla Thellenberg-Karlsson; Lennart Blomqvist; Heidi Lyng; Umeå universitet; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; PET; PSMA; MRI; PET MRI; imaging; prostate cancer; intraprostatic tumour detection; radiofysik; radiation physics;

    Sammanfattning : The current risk assessment of prostate cancer (PC) relies on histopathological samples from biopsies and clinical variables such as prostate-specific antigen (PSA). However, this comes with uncertainties and in some cases it can be challenging to separate patients who would benefit from radical treatment and those who would not. LÄS MER

  2. 12. Environmental impact of alum shale mining in Kvarntorp, Närke, Sweden

    Författare :Kristina Åhlgren; Mattias Bäckström; Stefan Karlsson; Roger Herbert; Örebro universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; alum shale; black shale; oil shale; Kvarntorp; uranium; surface water; groundwater; open pits;

    Sammanfattning : Due to scarcity of imported liquid fuel during World War II, alum shale was mined for oil production in the Kvarntorp area 1942-1966. The shale contains both organic matter (kerogen) and elevated concentrations of trace elements such as molybdenum, nickel, uranium and vanadium. LÄS MER

  3. 13. Purification, Stereoisomeric Analysis and Quantification of Biologically Active Compounds in Extracts from Pine Sawflies, African Butterflies and Orchid Bees

    Författare :Joakim Bång; Erik Hedenström; Kristina Sjödin; Hans-Erik Högberg; Anna-Karin Borg-Karlsson; Mittuniversitetet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Semiochemicals; sex pheromone; pine sawflies; Bicyclus; Euglossa; chiral separation; derivatisation; GC-MS; Organic chemistry; Organisk kemi;

    Sammanfattning : Stereochemistry plays an important role in nature because biologically important molecules such as amino acids, nucleotides and sugars, only exist in enantiomerically pure forms. Semiochemicals carry messages, between the same species (pheromones) and between different species (allelochemicals). LÄS MER
