  1. 31. Development of quantitative optical microscopy methods for single cell analysis

    Författare :Katarina Logg; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; protein localization; quantitative optical microscopy; live cell imaging; image analysis; cellular stress;

    Sammanfattning : Optical microscopy has brought powerful methods to biological research, in particular the possibility to assay dynamic molecular processes within living individual cells. This thesis deals with various aspects of fluorescence and Raman microscopy, such as the possibility of avoiding cellular damage or stress caused by illumination, how to manipulate single cells for spectroscopic analysis and how to quantify images automatically. 2. 32. Steam Explosion of Wood

    Författare :Muhammad Muzamal; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; finite element model; Steam explosion; biorefinery; pretreatment; wood;

    Sammanfattning : The rising price of petroleum and environmental concerns regarding CO2 emissions has increased interest in alternative renewable resources. Biomass can be considered as an excellent alternative raw material. A biorefinery uses biomass and produces fuel, energy and value-added chemicals. LÄS MER

  3. 33. Biosensors for Food Analysis: Development and Applications

    Författare :Mihaela Nistor; Bioteknik; []

  4. 34. Lipid-Based Surface Modifications: towards the Development of Membrane-Protein Arrays

    Författare :Indriati Pfeiffer; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; DNA-array; cholesterol-DNA; EIS; membrane proteins; lipid vesicles; QCM-D; supported lipid bilayer;

    Sammanfattning : Mimics of the natural cell membrane, such as lipid vesicles and supported lipid membranes, have gained significant attention in recent years. This is primarily due to their ability to provide scientists with a model system allowing a large arsenal of scientific tools to be used in studies of biological reactions that are naturally controlled by the cell membrane and its components. 5. 35. Cluster Dynamics and Industrial Policy in Peripheral Regions : a study of cluster formation as a local development process

    Författare :Cali Nuur; Staffan Laestadius; David Jacobson; KTH; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Peripheral regions; Industrial policy; regional development policy; cluster dynamics; call centress; Sweden; Hälsingland; Landsortsregioner; Industriell politik; Regional utvecklingspolitik; Klusterdynamik; Call centers; Sverige; Hälsingland; Industrial organisation; administration and economics; Industriell organisation; administration och ekonomi;

    Sammanfattning : The rapid growth of the global economy in the last two decades has created a new economic reality in many municipalities in peripheral regions of Sweden. Having earlier relied on traditional industry as the source of employment, today municipalities in peripheral regions are struggling to survive in a completely changed economic landscape, with new conditions for development.
