    Sammanfattning : Issues surrounding relationships between different writings and questions regarding literary dependence are ubiquitous in New Testament scholarship. This study aims to answer questions concerning how one is to understand the way that early Christian writers used other Christian writings: Are any typical characteristics discernible regarding the earliest use of Christian writings? Were they memorized and reproduced literally? Do they appear to have carried much authoritative weight from early on? And when is it advisable to construct hypotheses concerning unknown mediating sources in order to explain some particular literary relationship?In order to answer these questions, this study investigates how cultic concepts and terminology are expressed and utilized in a number of connected early Christian writings: Paul’s letter to the Romans and his First letter to the Corinthians, the letter to the Hebrews, and the letter known as First Clement.     Sammanfattning : After a review of previous research on Hebrews cncerning the structure, basic themes and the way the author characterizes his own work in the book as a word of exhortation, various methods of analyzing structure and themes are discussed and evluated. An exegetical and rhetorical analysis of Hebrews 1 and 2 leads to the conclusion that Heb 1:1-4 is the rhetorical exordium and 1:5–2:18 the narratio of a deliberative discourse, with 2:17f constituting the propositio, stating the main problem and question for the entire discourse.     Sammanfattning : Gothicism in general, and the Swedish Gothicism in particular, had a close connection to the esoteric currents that were flourishing all over Europe in the Early Modern Period. Apocalyptic predictions and prophecies useful to Gothic propaganda were derived from contemporary esoteric streams, but alongside these came Hermetic and Neo-Platonic speculations of a more individual character that emphasized man’s gradual ascension toward a higher state.
