21. Hygiene Aspects of Greywater and Greywater Reuse
Sammanfattning : Greywater is domestic household wastewater without inputfrom the toilet, i.e. wastewater from sinks, the shower, washing machine and dishwasher in a home. Source separation ofgreywater can be a strategy to enhance recirculation of plantnutrients and/or improve water use. LÄS MER
22. Groundwater vulnerability assessment using process-based models
Sammanfattning : The focus of this thesis is on groundwater vulnerability assessment by process-based simulation models and data acquisition for these assessments. A modelling system for intrinsic groundwater vulnerability assessment in water supply areas was developed, consisting of flow- and transport models for the unsaturated zone and the groundwater zone, coupled to a geographical informa-tion system. 23. Groundwater chemistry affected by underground construction activities
Sammanfattning : A leaking underground construction increases the groundwater recharge and decreases the residence time of the groundwater. If groundwater of a certain chemical composition dominated the location inside the bedrock of a planned tunnel prior to the construction phase, this water is likely to be replaced by water of a different chemical type because of leakage of water into the tunnel during the construction and operational phases. 24. Sorption of humic substances and microbial activity in the course of artificial recharge of groundwater
Sammanfattning : Sorption of humic subtances and metal-humate complexes on aquifer material taken from basins used for artificial recharge of groundwater was studied in batch scale experiments. Distribution of bacteria attached to the material from uppermost layer and from the horizons below the infiltration basin were measured in the field studies. LÄS MER
25. Subsurface Environmental Impact in Urban Areas. Shallow Groundwater Composition, Corrosion of Soil-Buried Constructions, and Leachates from Reclaimed Asphalt Pavement
Sammanfattning : Worldwide, groundwater represents the largest and most important source of potable water. Usually, urbanisation affects shallow urban aquifers in two ways: by radically changing patterns and rates of aquifer recharge, and by adversely affecting the quality of groundwater. LÄS MER
