  1. 11. Environmental Considerations when Selecting Transport Solutions -A contribution to shippers' decision process

    Författare :Maria Björklund; Teknisk logistik; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY;

    Sammanfattning : Shippers can play a key role in addressing the environmental impact of transport by placing environmental demands on the transports they operate, or in the process of purchasing transport services. Several research studies of shippers’ environmental initiatives regarding transport have been carried out during the last few years. LÄS MER

  2. 12. A Multi-Dimensional Approach to Human Mobility and Transportation Mode Detection Using GPS Data

    Författare :Paria Sadeghian; Johan Håkansson; Xiaoyun Zhao; Mengjie Han; Kevin Heaslip; Högskolan Dalarna; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Transport mode detection; Machine learning; Statistical learning; Rule-based method; Data labelling;

    Sammanfattning : GPS tracking data is an essential resource for analyzing human travel patterns and evaluating the effects on transportation systems. The primary challenge, however, is to accurately identify the modes of transportation within unlabeled GPS data. These approaches range from simple rule-based systems to advanced machine-learning techniques. LÄS MER

  3. 13. Transport and environment incentive policy instruments : effects and interactions

    Författare :Xing Liu; Lars Hultkrantz; James Odeck; Örebro universitet; []
    Nyckelord :SAMHÄLLSVETENSKAP; SOCIAL SCIENCES; Congestion pricing; Equity effects; Modal choice; Social marginal cost; Externalities; Transport taxation; Carbon tax; Carbon leakage; Computable General Equilibrium Model; VTTS; Simultaneous decision model; Random utility model; Logistics cost minimization; Additionality; Klimp; Climate subsidy program; Subsidy; CDM; Business Studies; Företagsekonomi;

    Sammanfattning : This dissertation studies issues related to the evaluation of the effects and interactions of transport and environmental incentive policy instruments. Essay 1: Green cars sterilize congestion charges: a model analysis of the reduced impact of Stockholm road tolls calibrates a modal-choice model with data from the Stockholm road toll and uses it to study the sensitivity of congestion toll effects to some seemly subtle changes in the toll system design and external circumstances. 4. 14. Properties of poly(lactic acid) in presence of cellulose and chitin nanocrystals

    Författare :Shikha Singh; Kristiina Oksman; Maria Lluisa Maspoch; Alfonso Jiménez; Luleå tekniska universitet; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; poly lactic acid ; chitin nanocrystals; nanocellulose; crystallization; orientation; nanocomposites; mechanical properties-other properties; Trä och bionanokompositer; Wood and Bionanocomposites;

    Sammanfattning : Plastic based materials are widely used for industrial and domestic packaging application. However, disposal of such petroleum-based materials e.g. polyethylene (PE), polypropylene (PP), and polyethyleneterephthalate (PET) has become a huge threat to the environment. LÄS MER

  5. 15. Small town, big move : Constructions of place in transiting mining communities

    Författare :Eugenia Segerstedt; Lena Abrahamsson; Mats Jakobsson; Kristina Johansson; Gry Paulgaard; Luleå tekniska universitet; []
    Nyckelord :SAMHÄLLSVETENSKAP; SOCIAL SCIENCES; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; construction of place; Gällivare; Kiruna; transformation; rural studies; urban change; Arbetsvetenskap; Human Work Sciences;

    Sammanfattning : The dissertation accounts for construction of place in mining communities as they undergo a major urban transformation. In the 2010s, urban centres in the northern Sweden mining communities of Gällivare and Kiruna entered a new execution phase of a large-scale transformation precipitated by ground subsidence caused by mining activities, a transformation that continues.
