41. Voltammetric properties of olsalazine sodium and some related compounds
Sammanfattning : The voltammetric properties of Olsalazine sodium, seven other azosalicylic acids and the azoxy analogue of Olsalazine sodium have been studied in aqueous solutions mainly by cyclic voltammetry and constant potential coulometry. It was found that these compounds can all be both reduced and oxidised at a glassy carbon electrode. LÄS MER
42. Towards Artificial Photosynthesis: Exploration of Efficient First-Row Transition Metal-Based Water Oxidation Catalysts
Sammanfattning : Artificial photosynthesis provides a promising strategy for sustainable energy harvesting, yet its overall efficiency is limited by the water oxidation reaction. The subject of this thesis focuses on the exploration of highly efficient cost-effective heterogeneous catalysts for water oxidation, and the investigation of essential catalyst structure-activity relationships. 43. Microbial Electrochemical System: extracellular electron transfer from photosynthesis and respiration to electrode
Sammanfattning : The electrochemical communication between microorganisms and electrodes has substantial implications both for basic understanding of biological electron transfer as well as in diverse applications, such as, microbial electrochemical system (MES), microbial biosensors and in production of valuable chemicals. In these systems the extracellular electron transfer (EET) from microbial metabolism to electrodes is restricted due to the insulated cellular exterior made of lipid structures. LÄS MER
44. Interrogating Diffusional Mass and Charge Transport in Catalytic Metal-Organic Frameworks
Sammanfattning : Molecular catalysts are efficient and selective for the electrochemical conversion of small molecules for energy conversion. Application of molecular species in a large-scale industrial setting requires stabilization in a heterogeneous support material. LÄS MER
45. PROBING NAD(P)H AVAILABILITY IN LIVING CELLS USING MINIATURIZED ELECTROCHEMICAL SYSTEMS
Sammanfattning : The work presented in this thesis demonstrates the application of electrochemical methods for probing the dynamics of cellular metabolism in prokaryotic and eukaryotic cells. The main part of the work has been done using genetically modified strains of yeast. Employing baker’s yeast, S. LÄS MER
