16. The origin of iron ores in Bergslagen, Sweden, and their relationships with polymetallic sulphide ores
Sammanfattning : The Bergslagen mining district of southern Sweden is one of Europe’s classic mining districts with more than 1 000 years of mining history. One of the typical features of Bergslagen is a spatial association between Zn-Pb-Ag-(Cu-Au) sulphide deposits and magnetite-rich Fe oxide deposits. LÄS MER
17. Cavitation Erosion Mechanisms in Cast Irons
Sammanfattning : The research presented in this thesis investigated the mechanisms by which cavitation erosion damage develops in lamellar graphite iron (LGI) and austempered ductile irons (ADIs). This has been achieved by image sequences of surface erosion on test samples in tandem with weight change measurements. LÄS MER
18. Microstructure-based Mechanical Behaviour in Structural Analyses of Cast Components
Sammanfattning : In the process of developing cast iron and cast aluminium components, the co-operation between product development and production is important. On the engineering level, this co-operation is limited already in the product development phase e.g. by the lack of established methods to consider the mechanical behaviour of the completed component. 19. Simulation of Microstructure-based Mechanical Behaviour of Cast Components
Sammanfattning : In the process of developing cast iron and cast aluminium components, a high level of co-operation between product development and production is of great importance. From an engineering standpoint, this co-operation is limited early in the product development phase by e.g. LÄS MER
20. High-Temperature Corrosion-Fatigue of Cast Alloys for Exhaust Manifolds
Sammanfattning : The introduction of gas-driven Otto engine and the corresponding usage of bio-fuels in heavy-duty engines will render the exhaust atmosphere more corrosive and bring a higher working temperature to exhaust manifolds. The current service material, a ferritic ductile cast iron called SiMo51, will soon meet its upper temperature limit set by the ferrite-austenite transformation at 860ºC. LÄS MER
