    Sammanfattning : This thesis concerns a novel alkaline protease produced by an extremophilic microbial specie, designated as AL20, isolated from a feather sample collected at the shore of the alkaline soda lake Abjata in the Ethiopian Rift Valley. The isolate is a heterotrophic, alkaliphilic, halotolerant gram-positive, strictly aerobic, non-motile, non-spore forming bacterium. LÄS MER

    Sammanfattning : Abnormal vaginal microbiota, as in bacterial vaginosis (BV), is associated with increased risk of obstetrical and gynaecologic complications and acquisition of sexually transmitted diseases. However, very little is known about the pathogenesis of BV. In BV, the normal vaginal Lactobacillus-dominated biota (LDB) is replaced by anaerobic bacteria. LÄS MER
