  1. 11. Charge carrier traffic at interfaces in nanoeletronic structures

    Författare :Bahman Raeissi; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; HfO2; oxide traps; High-k; interface states;

    Sammanfattning : This thesis describes investigations in relation to the search for materials with high dielectric constant, k, for future CMOS transistors. The most elementary quantities to be considered are k-value and energy band offsets between the dielectric and the silicon crystal on which it is deposited. LÄS MER

    Sammanfattning : This thesis discusses two different magnetic materials: epitaxial yttrium iron garnet (YIG) and heteromorphous CoFeB-SiO2 films. YIG films were grown by pulse laser deposition (PLD) techniques onto gadolinium gallium garnet (GGG) substrates of (111) and (001) crystal orientations. LÄS MER

  3. 13. On computational homogenization of gradient crystal inelasticity

    Författare :Kristoffer Carlsson; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; computational homogenization; gradient theory; multiscale modeling; crystal plasticity;

    Sammanfattning : Crystal inelasticity is the main modeling technique employed to study the mechanical behavior of polycrystalline metallic materials. This class of models has the capability to represent micromechanical phenomena such as plastic slip, grain boundary interactions, and dislocation pile-up. LÄS MER

    Sammanfattning : In this thesis ionic liquids (ILs) are investigated as prospective candidates for lubrication. Three custom synthesized phosphonium orthoborate type ILs were extensively studied from the prospective of molecular structuring both in bulk and at the interface and from the prospective of their lubricating performance as neat lubricants and as additives in oils. 5. 15. Controlling function by structure-intermolecular interactions and crystal engineering with N-donor ligands

    Författare :Mohamed I D M Ghazzali; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; OPL; 10 phenanthroline]2 .; single crystal diffraction; intermolecular interactions; crystal engineering; Fe II coordination polymers; Schiff’s bases; porphyrins; intercalation; [ Ru tris-1;

    Sammanfattning : In the solid state regime, crystal engineering based on non-covalent synthesis requires an intuition about the intermolecular forces that can dictate the molecular architecture. Hydrogen bonds have become an instrumental tool in the self assembly and supramolecular chemistry. LÄS MER
