  1. 1. Anchorage in Concrete Structures : Numerical and Experimental Evaluations of Load-Carrying Capacity of Cast-in-Place Headed Anchors and Post-Installed Adhesive Anchors

    Författare :Rasoul Nilforoush; Lennart Elfgren; Norbert Randl; Karin Lundgren; Manouchehr Hassanzadeh; Richard Malm; Lars-Erik Persson; Luleå tekniska universitet; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Headed anchor; Anchor bolt; Adhesive anchor; Concrete cone breakout; Concrete splitting; Pullout loading; Size effect; Member thickness; Anchor head size; Orthogonal surface reinforcement; Concrete Strength; High-strength concrete; Cracked concrete; Steel fiber-reinforced concrete; Sustained loading; Creep behavior; Structural Engineering; Konstruktionsteknik;

    Sammanfattning : Various anchorage systems including both cast-in-place and post-installed anchors have been developed for fastening both non-structural and structural components to concrete structures. The need for increased flexibility in the design of new structures and strengthening of existing concrete structures has led to increased use of various metallic anchors in practice. LÄS MER

  2. 2. A theory of bond applied to overlapped tensile reinforcement splices for deformed bars

    Författare :Ralejs Tepfers; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Concrete; splitting failures; confinement; deformed bars; tensile overlap splices; bond theory; fatigue; concrete cover splitting; reinforcement;

    Sammanfattning : A bond theory for deformed reinforcing bars in concrete is elaborated taking into account different stages in development of final rupture occurring as splitting or pull-out. The concrete cover splitting resistance is modelled for a thick-walled concrete ring in elastic and plastic stages. Different final possible failure modes are analysed. LÄS MER

  3. 3. Structural Behaviour of Deteriorated Concrete Structures

    Författare :Kamyab Zandi; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; FE analysis; concrete; stirrup; corrosion; bond; pull-out test; frost;

    Sammanfattning : A growing concern for better assessment of existing concrete structures has revealed a need for improved understanding of the structural effects of deterioration. The two most common causes of deterioration in concrete structures are freezing of the concrete and corrosion of the reinforcement. LÄS MER

  4. 4. Cracking in concrete : crack prevention with air-cooling and crack distribution with steel fibre reinforcement

    Författare :Patrik Groth; Luleå tekniska universitet; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Structural Engineering; Konstruktionsteknik;

    Sammanfattning : This Licentiate Thesis consists of four parts. The first two parts, paper A and B, deal with air-cooling by means of embedded pipes in order to reduce thermal cracking in concrete structures. These two papers are submitted for publication to RILEM Journal; ‘Materials and Structures'. LÄS MER

  5. 5. Three-Dimensional Modelling of Bond in Reinforced Concrete Theoretical Model, Experiments and Applications

    Författare :Karin Lundgren; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; three-dimensional analysis; splitting effects; bond; finite element analysis; reinforced concrete; pull-out tests; non-linear fracture mechanics; frame corners; splicing of reinforcement; cyclic loading;

    Sammanfattning : The bond mechanism between deformed bars and concrete is known to be influenced by multiple parameters, such as the strength of the surrounding structure, the occurrence of splitting cracks in the concrete and the yielding of the reinforcement. However, when reinforced concrete structures are analysed using the finite element method, it is quite common to assume that the bond stress depends solely on the slip. LÄS MER
