    Sammanfattning : There is an increased demand for diesel engines running on non-fossil fuels such as dimethyl ether (DME), biodiesel and synthetic diesel. DME is a promising alternative fuel with potential for high energy efficiency and low CO2 emissions.     Sammanfattning : The use of a 10 kWth chemical-looping combustor for solid fuels was investigated. The unit was designed, dimensioned and built and two types of fuel were tested: a South African coal and a petroleum coke from Mexico.
