  1. 1. Economic growth, energy consumption and CO2 emissions in Sweden 1800-2000

    Författare :Astrid Kander; Ekonomisk-historiska institutionen; []
    Nyckelord :SAMHÄLLSVETENSKAP; SOCIAL SCIENCES; energy intensity; Environmental Kuznets Curve; relative price analyses; standard calculations; technical change; structural changes; energy quality factors; consumers surplus; Social and economic history; forest management; CO2 intensity; Ekonomisk och social historia;

    Sammanfattning : Large transformations of technologies have occurred in the Swedish economy during the last two centuries, resulting in higher income, better quality of products and changing composition of GDP. An agrarian society has given way to an industrial society and lately to a post-industrial phase. LÄS MER

  2. 2. Green consumption energy use and carbon dioxide emission

    Författare :Eva Alfredsson; Einar Holm; Neil Swan; Kerstin Westin; Umeå universitet; []
    Nyckelord :SAMHÄLLSVETENSKAP; SOCIAL SCIENCES; Social and economic geography; Energy consumption; Carbon dioxide emission; Energy intensity; Carbon intensity; Life cycle assessment; Consumption patterns; Lifestyles; Systems analysis; Microsimulation modelling; Demography; Sustainability; Rebound effects; Substitution effects; Kulturgeografi; Human geography; Kulturgeografi; Social and Economic Geography; kulturgeografi;

    Sammanfattning : The aim of this thesis is to explore the quantitative potential to reduce energy requirements and CO2 emissions through changed patterns of consumption, given unchanged levels of consumption expenditure. The thesis question is analysed using a systems analysis approach which in this case means that life cycle assessment data on energy requirements and CO2 emissions related to household consumption are combined with a financial and behavioural analysis to make sure that the budget constraint is kept and that both the first and second order effects of adopting a green consumption pattern are analysed. 3. 3. Clean development Mechanism (CDM) Policy and Implementation in China

    Författare :Lei Zeng; Leif Gustavsson; Mälardalens högskola; []
    Nyckelord :Climate change; Clean development mechanism; CDM; CO2; Green House Gas; GHG; landfill gas; sustainable development; China; Energi- och miljöteknik;

    Sammanfattning : China is the second largest emitter of greenhouse gases (GHG) in the world. Since 68% of its primary energy is from coal, China’s average energy intensity is 7.5 times higher than the EU and 4.3 times higher than the US (EU, 2003). LÄS MER

  4. 4. Approaches to scale-up CO2 emissions reduction in the energy supply sector in developing countries

    Författare :Wathanyu Amatayakul; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; sectoral no-lose target; electricity generation; biomass; CO2 abatement; Thailand; CDM; developing countries; biofuel;

    Sammanfattning : This thesis, which consists of five papers, addresses two themes related to the need for a scale-up of greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions reduction in the energy sector in developing countries: (1) approaches to support developing countries in scaling-up emissions reduction, and (2) an approach to scale-up emissions reduction --cultivation of fuel wood to replace fossil fuels in electricity generation.In the first paper, the potential volume of carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions reduction and reduction credits in the electricity sector under a sectoral crediting mechanism based on a sectoral no-lose, non-binding, target in the post-2012 period is assessed for seven high-emitting developing countries by means of different scenarios. 5. 5. Characterization of oxy-fuel flames - their composition, temperature and radiation

    Författare :Klas Andersson; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Combustion; O2 CO2; NO formation; Radiation; Oxy-fuel; Flame properties;

    Sammanfattning : Oxy-fuel combustion is receiving growing attention as one of the promising CO2 capture technologies in connection to power production. Yet, significant efforts are required in research and development of this combustion process in order to be able to design and optimize a full scale power plant. LÄS MER
